Re: Mark Bowen betting charges

I wouldn’t be in a rush to label him an addict either. Based on what the FA have said it would equate to 3-4 bets a month on average, hardly the stuff of an addict. Apart from the fact he shouldn't be doing it in the first place and has apparently already been done before. Why else would he do some...

Re: Mallik Wilks

Why would he want want to come to this club? He might not gat paid, management staff getting banned, maybe new owners, maybe not, etc. Unless he isn't wanted by any other club, of course. Well, I'd hazard new owners or not would have a pretty big influence on whether it could happen. But apart from...

Re: Mallik Wilks

I goal in 2 seasons and he's under contract anyway so a non starter As a loanee, it may be possible. I'd guess Charlton and Stockport could be more likely to get him if Sheffield Wednesday want to sell him this summer. And if he's barely played there they may want to get him off the books, so it's ...

Re: Mark Bowen betting charges

There's no excuse if he's guilty, and it seems likely he I; the FA don't tend to just float charges based upon flimsy evidence in cases like this. In any job, if any condition (health, mental health, whatever) means you cannot abide by strict and transparent rules, you should get support. But it wo...

Re: Mark Bowen betting charges

Great, so the only explanation for Bowen being charged with betting on football whilst employed by a professional football team for a second time is that he is a gambling addict.

Our man in charge of transfers and contracts, appears to be a gambling addict.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Sadly (for me) this is an area in which i am something of an expert, having to deal with the PSR on a regular basis. Credit cards are by far the card you want to be using when buying expensive things. Section 75 of the CCA is significantly more powerful and reliable than relying on chargeback. Just...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

I was mildly intrigued by the wording on the email, particularly "one thing that you can rely on is the Royals will be lining up in August ready for another action packed campaign" All the activity definitely gives me a feeling that they're confident stability is around the corner, maybe ...

 https://x.com/STARReading/status/1795815747920212164 We are in a tough position. Discretion is essential at this stage of negotiations, but we also know Reading fans are anxious for updates. This is being made worse by false reporting and inaccurate rumour-mongering. We have spoken to Nigel...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

I don't know about anyone else, but for me, with it being close season, the whole club ceasing to exist suddenly feels less painful than it did when we were actually playing. I sort of get what you mean. It's all a bit, well, distant right now. Almost abstract. However, as the season approaches, as...

Re: Weekend Football

LUX I’d far prefer to go up via the play- offs at Wembley. Just to experience it once. I was at all four final failures, plus the Cup semi final. :x

Same. Although a promotion to the Championship via the POs might be a bit anticlimactic.

I'll go one better on the stink test stranded. Just days after exclusivity is extended, some rando twatter nomark says its all off.

Why was exclusivity extended then?

Re: Rival Watch

Yep, but most of those will not have come cheap on the wages front. Promotion likely a must (before the guaranteed relegation next season). They survive for a couple of seasons sometimes... just like they sometimes go a few seasons without promotion. True however since 2012/13 then have spent 5 sea...

Rotherham have already made five signings, all free transfers: Jonson Clarke-Harris (from Peterborough); Reece James (Sheff Wed); Shaun McWilliams (Northampton); Joe Rafferty (Portsmouth); Sean Raggett (Portsmouth). They'll be challenging towards the top this season. That was pretty much a given. Y...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Seriously? I'd rather see the takeover go through than England win the Euros; it's existential. But I'd rather see England win the Euros over promotion from L1, or even to the Premier League. I've seen promotion, it was good and I'd enjoy it again, but been there done that. I've never seen England ...

James Henry (now 34) released by the Ox. Wonder if he might end up back here? In our first Premier League season I was fortunate (not so fortunate for him  ) to be sat next to Steve Coppell at the League Managers Association annual dinner at Stamford Bridge. He was very open when we talked ab...
