Re: Rival Watch

I'd be fuming as a Bolton fan. They were a better team than Derby and contrived to finish beneath them. They are a much better team than Oxford and failed to turn up and do the basics on the big day. They only have themselves to blame, and if they start next season slowly I suspect it'll be bye bye ...

Re: Rival Watch

And stop Reading FC too. Really doesn't help us having Bolton in L1 next year. Don't think we are in serious contention anyway, unless we make some clever signings. Agree, can't really see us challenging until the embargo is lifted and that's assuming the ownership situation gets resolved before th...

Re: Rival Watch

Mid Sussex Royal Its good there's another decent side in the league which will hopefully stop Hollywood FC going up.

Re: Rival Watch

bloody Volvo driver Not had a shot on target yet. Outfought on the pitch and outthought off the pitch.

Fair assessment. They've been a better side than Oxford all season but you have to do the basics.

Re: Rival Watch

The last gift of the Dai era. A local rival we spent two decades above of in the football pyramid getting promoted to the division above us. Still time for a McAteer response. Be  if Bolton do another 94/95 recovery. From Reading's perspective both teams are inconsistent garbage so, for next s...

Re: Rival Watch

Not going to make assertions that they'll get massacred in the Championship, but it will be a massive achievement if they survive. Weakest of the 3 promoted sides, smallest club in the division and smallest budget. Would need a season of Brannagan and Murphy both fit and in form, plus some smart rec...

Re: Neil Warnock interview in Chronicle

From memory wasn’t Jem’s first nasty injury against Leeds at home caused by a scissor tackle by Michael Brown that trapped his leg and then Brown put his weight on Jem’s leg. It was considered a nasty and agricultural tackle 15-20 years ago, now outlawed? It was a red card offence then, but the ref...

If they do vote to get rid, I can't wait to see the reaction when a ref howler determines the title or a relegation spot.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Let's see shall we but it would be good to have it all sorted well before the start of next season which is just over a couple of months away-that is why the "months" concerned me. Yes Stranded there has been a lot going on between us and the EFL but not for the right reasons so let's hop...

From Despair To Where? The agent's been suspended for 6 months so it Olise moves this summer, he's kind of oxf*rd himself.

Ban starts in October so as not to interfere this summer.

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

I personally can't criticise the club for doing everything to sign a talent like Olise from our academy. His agent had us by the balls and we met his terms. It was vindicated; he played great football that gave us a chance of the PL, before bringing us £8m and quite possibly another £5m this summer....

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

Nigel Howe has been fined £5,000 and issued an immediate six-month suspension from involvement with player contract negotiations and transfer related activity, and a further six-month suspension from all football related activity to commence upon the expiry of the first suspension. I wonder the sus...

So almost certainly not going to ruin the sale of the club, and confirmation that we have a sell on clause. Is this actually good news?

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

WTF did we agree to something that wasn't allowed. Clowns the lot of them. If it makes you feel any better, the same redacted documents revealed that we do in fact have a 10% sell-on for transfer profit in regards to Olise. Who knows what Dai is supposedly selling the club for, but the knowledge th...

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

Seems very harsh. We developed Olise, if an agent is strong arming us to push the laws or lose him for free, surely he is the one who has the book thrown at him? Imagine how much suffering could have been avoided at many clubs if Kia had simply been banned for his role in Mascherano and Tevez. Who k...

Re: Weekend Football

I wonder how different Spurs fans would have been last night if they actually thought they could win. Let's be honest - we all knew City would win and they did. If Spurs were still in their early season form and had 4th place in their own hands, I suspect it would have been different. Instead, it wa...

Re: Is Pep a genius?

I think Pep is a motivational genius, yes. It is the old chestnut with him, I want to see him at a mediocre club with a tight budget. Everything he has ever had has been handed to him on a plate. Not his fault of course but he has had it easy. I don't buy this. When Barca appointment him they were ...

Re: Weekend Football

Most Arsenal fans have some memory of success so I'm not convinced they'd be quite as small time as the Spurs fans were I thought that, finishing apart, Spurs played pretty well and gave as good as they got. Fine margins and all that, but Ortega ultimately proved to be the difference. (who knows if...

Re: Is Pep a genius?

Not sure Yaya Toure is a good shout. Pep wasted him at Barca as a physical DM, it was only at City where they let him take off the shackles and he became a magnificent player who could do just about anything.
