Re: Williams and Howard hand in transfer requests

I'm not saying Howard is the man--like Matejovsky he's been found a bit wanting--but we certainly need an advanced creative midfielder. All teams do, and the fact that we've been making a virtue of necessity with our usual formation doesn't change that. When it works, the system of two defensive mi...

Re: Paolo Di Canio vs Leon Clarke

That's one way for Di Canio to get rid of him. From what I've heard - he's looking to ship out a few more too.... Are you accusing PDC of being a racist? from the other thread on this Have to admit my first thought was 'who'd a thunk putting a confirmed fascist in charge of your football club is a ...

Re: The Summer 2011 transfer thread

Krancjar is a centre-mid who tends to play wide in England, thought he played in centre midfield for his country.

Things are bad at Everton, though; David Moyes has told sources that they can't even afford a rumour.

Re: ArsenaLOL

Arsenal are caught between a rock and a hard place. They want to be profitable and make a stand about financials (like Reading) but they also want to win stuff. In this market you can't do both. My understanding was that the Arsenal board were happy for each season to be Champions League later stag...

Re: Hunt & Church

Good point about Cox, although ISTR he was rubbish for a few clubs before Swindon, and was only really good once he got his permanent move to them. However, what I object to is the slightly lazy assumption that sending him out on loan will improve him will result in lots of goals, when it doesn't s...

Apparently buying a Korean now. Anyway, I understand that its an issue of wages and the club have a structure and budget that they are willing to bend not break. Hence buying young and building up. They definitely have that policy, but my point is that if they had made the most of their success und...

Re: Weekend Football 27/28 August.

Foster was unlucky with that Shotton goal. Didn't have control of the ball - no different to another player going in with their boot. That was right on the border. I think if he'd tried to claim it harder, with Shotton leading with the boot, he might have had less to worry about. Ref would have blo...

What, evra going missing makes de gea a flop?

ok

There was nothing inevitable at de Gea being culpable for a relatively soft goal minutes after that post.

Nothing at all.

sandman "It's a brilliant save" No it's not Tyler it's a tame penalty that any keeper should save.

If he guesses the right way to begin with ffs.

Good save, you must be one of the people calling de gea a flop on another thread. Game changing save.

Re: Weekend Football 27/28 August.

It always annoys me that penalties are described as a lottery because the keeper almost certainly doesn't guess which way to go. He has an idea, given the taker and clearly looks at the way that player shapes up. It is not a guess.
