SWLR We are bound to be tested with bids for both Doyle and Shorey. Everyman has his price, if you were Mr Mad, at what price would you sanction a deal:

I'll start the bidding:

Doyle: £12M
Shorey: £4M

Doyle wouldn't leave here for anything less that £10m.
Shorey for no less than £7m. Quality English left backs are tough to find!

I started this thread with the obvious two names, (thought about adding Lita - but he still nto the finished article) and struggling to think that anyone else would attract a bid (age the biggest factor - Inga, Marcus, Murts, Blakey)

But I forgot all about Superman  Let's add him in as I believed he proved himself (despite the gaff-a-game he is no Titus) - say £6M.

Nobody will move for Sonko until he has shown he is recovered from his knee injury. We currently have no idea when he will return and if he'll be anywhere near as effective.

I cannot see either Doyle or Shorey leaving in the summer , if they continue in the same form next season then very probable
I'm still under the impressions that most of the top clubs who are willing to spend the sort of money to aquire these two will want to make sure they are not one season wonders, the prem has been littered with one season wonders(i.e rickkets,)

If Doyle scores 13 or more prem goals next season it will be a tough fight to keep him (with Man Utd waving £12m in Readings faces for his services)

Fair enough. Still nobody would consider a move for him unless he has shown he is back to his best, so Jan at the outside (if at all).

Nobody will move for Sonko because of his tendancy to upend players and give away penalties. Until he proves he is capable enough to not do so he will be staying at Reading.

I just hope remain a non selling club. yeah sure if a player isn't in our thinking then sell him, but we need to continue building and we will go backwards not forwards if we sell our best players!

Sir Alex Fergusson knows when to sell players

Ruud Van Nistleroy this season, then they go and win the Prem.

Beckham to Real Madrid then they get Ronaldo

Ince, Kanchelskis etc then they win the double with kids

If we do sell a player I believe it will be part of Coppell's masterplan.

Like when we got rid of Andy Hughes and Nicky Forster?

I would like to think we are "tested" with a bid of £3m for Lita, in which case I would chuckle as long and hard as I did after Norwich took Hughes off our hands.

Given his current contract situation that would be a very good deal indeed.

He's got another year left on his contract, hasn't he?

Yes, he has, hence my point.

Agreed - £3m+ for Lita would be decent business although I have started to warm to him a bit lately. He was actually very good against Watford in the first half.... Coppell would have hime out of the door faster than you could ake the offer though....

Man City are going to be signing someone (anyone) who they think can put the ball in the net so I could see them taking a chance on Lita at £3m. Especially if Pearce had still been there after Lita's reasonable showing for England U21 and up there in the League. Shame Pearce won't be around to make that move.

Platypuss
SpaceCruiser We are not so desperate to sell as we are not a selling club. So whatever the offer is, I'd imagine that Reading will not sell certain players.

Depends on who comes asking.

Are you saying that they'd tap the player up?

No, he's saying that if it's Cheatski we'll charge £50m.
