15% is over 11.000. i would expect an initial allocation of around 6,000, and then more if we need them

Middlesbrough took 10k last season. Hopefully the club don't do what happened at Man City back in 2011 and only take half the allocation we could have had so many of our fans missed out

Yep we had to sit with the home fans for the Citeh game. Terrible decision by the club for a quarter final. We just sat silently when they scored made even worse by them then doing the posnan.

Just a heads up...

The last time I went to OT to see Reading I was in the home end. You can barely see the away fans let alone hear them. It's only the line of marshalls in their high viz that marks you out.

The 16th time since 1912 Reading have played United in the cup. Does that make them the side we have played more than any other in the cup?

Yes. Reading have played 15 games against Man Utd in the FA Cup, Aldershot are next highest with 11 games then Newport with 9 and Cardiff with 8. It’s actually quite an achievement considering the general difference in the status of the 2 clubs, where for long periods there was no guarantee Reading would still be in the competition by the time United joined in. Just for the record, from what I can make out Reading have been drawn against 143 different opponents since first entering the FA Cup back in 1877/78.

Not really, I don't think I could name/recognize a single Reading player apart from Tom Ince

On the plus side for you lot, Utd are going to be playing every 3/4 days until May. The Glazers are not going to be buying anyone this Jan and we're weak in certain areas/players. Can't really replace Casemiro, Bruno, DeGea or Dalot and very light up front in striker position

It's why top4 is a difficult ask for Utd

I think the split is of the ‘profit’ rather than the actual takings. So the home club can take the cost of staging the game before splitting the remainder.

And you just know the cash will be boosted with the BBC or ITV fawning all over United so what’s the betting it gets switched to a Friday or Monday night? Am assuming Stukeh meant that it couldn't just be shifted to the Wednesday night, as often happens, if Utd is the Monday live game.

In the likely event that Utd beat Charlton in the League Cup this week, then the FA Cup is sandwiched between LC semi final dates, so imagine it will end up being the Saturday/Sunday lunchtime game.

Given our current FFP situation, I'm delighted with the tie as from a money spinning perspective it's pretty much the best you can get as Man Utd essentially force their season ticket holders to buy tickets.

If picked for TV - we are looking at aroung 150k and if the game sells out then we could net over 1m. Cambridge took home approx 1.2m from a tie at OT.

Yeah the finances are the best thing we could hope for, just from a selfish viewpoint, I wish it was someone else.

The money from that, plus whatever we got on Saturday, plus our winning will be a good pot of money for us and the miracle of a win at OT would be great for the club.
