Still an owner after SJM

Owner with SJM.

My memory is a little more testing these days, but didn’t the club return to SJM’s full ownership when Zinga couldn’t complete the purchase ?

Could well be the case

I believe that is indeed the case. IIRC, TSI bought a 51% stake and had to complete a full purchase within a specified time otherwise ownership reverted back to SJM.

Correct.

And Zingy had 51% initially so His Madj didn't have much of a voice as co owner.

Yes. Zing bought 51% off SJM initially with the proviso he had 12 months to by the remaining 49%. However as SJM had found the only Russian oligarch with no money Zing defaulted and SJM got the 51% back to be the full owner again at which point he started looking for some Thais who wanted a car park which took about 12 months to do.

Did Zing pay for his 51% and did he get it back or forfeited it when that share reverted to SJM? It's something I have wondered before but never checked it out.

There's conflicting info.

At the time I recall the deal being pay x for 51% with a deadline for the remaining 49% with the lot reverting to SJM if that second payment was missed.

However, Dirkers has subsequently claimed he'd heard Anton never actually paid for the 51% and that's why it all reverted to SJM.

I find the latter incredibly hard to believe because I think you'd have to be a screaming moron to hand over control of your company without being paid for it.

SBWD statement following today's news is kneejerk and not for the first time.

They are complaining the club hasn't announced who the proposed buyer is, really think they need to get individuals who understand this stuff to check their statements through.

Wasn’t one of their demands (lol) when they did their first letter that any potential buyers contact them first? No doubt they’re upset that they’ve not been contacted

SBWD really let themselves down at times.

The last three statements they've released have been absolutely shocking.

Whoever gave the 12 year old the social media account to look after really need to take a look at themselves.

Even during the protests when they were at their least shambolic, it was mainly the fanbase doing what it wanted regardless of what they said.

A lot of their statements have been classic heart over head type messaging, the type where you really need to pass it to someone who isn't emotionally invested to proof read it, so they can tell you what you should have written instead.

It's been dreadfully idealistic and "ideas above our station" at times.

Agree with all that but I'll cut them quite a bit of slack for getting organised and getting some decent media coverage for various stunts.

Compare that to STAR, who as recently as a few months ago were asking fans not to protest.

Their point about naming the counterparty is impossible; EFL rules don't allow them to be named until they have completed their OADT procedures.

As for asking for communication from the buyer, it does seem a bit self important, but I would agree with the sentiment that building a rapport with the fans should be a top priority for any incoming owner. This year has been particularly difficult because there is so much distrust of a silent owner who has never tried to justify or explain their decisions to us.
