Mark Clemmit (sp).

Totally agree, JB. IMO, the three worst things about the BBC FL coverage are:

Claridge
Clemmit
Lizzie Greenwood-Hughes' "e-mail the show" segment.

Of course, a lot of people think having a ground named after the chairman is cringe worthy. The chairman of a club should be un-noticed.

Nice to see the old footage of Robin Friday and the 13 game winning run team, just shows it's out there.

Agreed. And even if you fall for the line that it wasn't his idea, he could easily have turned it down. He might have welcomed the additional income from a sponsor now.

I find him a bit annoying, but have nothing against him other than that.

'greed. I know the footage of a 10 second or so passage of play in midfield existed, but I'd never seen a goal of his before. And the Newport footage was ace too - never seen that before.

I don't mind him he seems to be a populer figure amongst the clubs in the football league and does know his stuff. Lizzie is the one I can't stick reads the e-mails like a teaching assistent at a nursery class.

Dont get me started. Like they had 5 mins to spare in the program and couldn't be bothered to do anything so just read out txts and emails from some idiot, who got nothing better to do on a sat night that email the Football League Show. Though anyone who watches the show on a Sat night can't really take the high ground.

To be honest the shows got some massive issues, mainly Claridge and Rosenior snr. Just show all the goals in one loop and then finish. BBC talks bout cuts.

I assume you also cringed when you heard the names Ninian Park, Adams Park and Fellows Park too?

I didn't stay up for the show last night because there would be no Reading goals on it. But I just caught up with it. Really brief history; they didn't even send Clem. The Friday footage was a bit fleeting, will have to watch it again, missed the goal. The Reading historian has surprisingly bad teeth for someone from the Thames Valley; or has he moved here from somewhere like Rochdale?

I find Clem annoying, but I suppose you have to jazz the show up somehow. In my view, the humour in TFLS is much better than that in MOTD2, which is cringeworthy--even more so since Chiles left. The problem with Claridge and Rosenior is that they're on too often, and so their mannerisms begin to grate. Claridge is always saying "as I say" and umming and arrhing in an attempt to sound more grave. And someone should tell Rosenior not to start all his replies with "absolutely". I do marvel at Rosenior's youthful appearance; hard to believe he's got a son in his twenties, especially one who looks older than he does. Lizzy is annoying but harmless; Jackie Oakley started off in that role and it's a shame she didn't get the gig, because she's got better legs.
