SCIAG He took two difficult A-Levels (Physics and Maths, I think) and his dad is a professor of engineering at Imperial College.

If Holmes’ nickname in the dressing room isn’t the professor or prof, then quite frankly what’s the point of anything?

If they play the same formation again today I can’t see them going to 4 at the back next week.
The 3 made better use of the players we have currently although Azeez as the left wing back looked more a way of fitting him in to get a game.

I was speaking to a Wednesday season ticket holder about Hutchinson. They said that there was quite a bit of debate about whether it was right to let him go. The fans like how he plays with a lot of passion, but also means he racks up the bookings. Ultimately though, the feeling was that his legs have gone. Hopefully not.....

Hopefully if Sarr comes in less reliance on Hutch. He’s a good option though, thought he was decent today

Bit disappointing, but hard to say we aren’t getting value from Academy products in defence.

Long got a knee in the back against West Ham so should be fit for Saturday. Dann still has a calf injury which kept him out at the end of last season so no idea when we will see him again

Paul Ince has confirmed Reading are close to 2 more signings early this week which I presume are centre back Naby Sarr on a free transfer and defensive midfielder Mamadou Loum on loan from Porto (bringing the number of loans up to 4; Loum, Lumley, Fornah and Hendrick).

Then I hope the club can get a left back (if not two) before the window ends, I like the sound of Guinness-Walker and presume a deal could be done there given the club have taken him on trial.

In addition PI did also day he's looking for another striker though he also said that there is an opportunity for Jahmari Clarke. Given Reading are already racking up the injuries I would suggest that that club could never have too many players this season.

I'm guessing any additional striker will be in loan. Can't see us suddenly finding a freebie out of nowhere at this stage.

Having said that, Luis Suarez is still available.

If we are going to get a new striker what type of player would people like to see? I’d personally like to see Clarke given a chance or another Nicky Forster who’s very direct and can scare the shit out of the defence. Not sure if Ince will go for a big lump like Wickham up front or more of a link up player like Troy Parrot of Spurs.

Only because of an article I read I wouldn’t be surprised to see Saido Berahino turn up. Purely, because he knows Hutchinson from their time at Wednesday together and we are exploring every avenue.

We could do worse than Lewis Grabban.

I'll be honest, I'm just scrolling through the list of on contracted players on Transfermarkt.

You mean we could sign Chris Martin ?

(Actually I agree, Grabban would be a useful signing)

I’d want a Curo/ ALF type player.
In fact both could actually be options.....

And the way Lita played for the 106 side he still has his pace.
