Hound Nice. Well done royal monkey and snowflake for running it

I'll echo this.

Hopefully we should all have a clearer picture on how good sides in League One are next season.

Yeah, I pride myself on being pretty good at this, but I had a shocker this season. Really knew very little about L1.

Hope to do much better next season.

Royal Monkeys was scarily accurate. Couple of sides - us and Stevenage m particularly, caught a few of us out but otherwise quite pleased at my guess tbh

Quite a few had very few clubs at minus points.

Interestingly I think most people got progressively more accurate as the season went on.

We were probably the biggest wildcard in hindsight. Totally unpredictable.

Then you always get a couple surprise packages like Stevenage and Orient plus underachievers like Charlton. But the top 2 wasn't very surprising, the playoffs involve all of last year's play off losers and the bottom 4 provided no great shocks.

We were unpredictable for various reasons - not least points deductions coming into play. Charlton have to be the biggest underachievers this season; Stevenage the biggest overachievers.

Looking at the average prediction (average in brackets):
  1. Derby (2.5)
  2. Portsmouth (4.7)
  3. Barnsley (5.6)
  4. Bolton (5.8 )
  5. Charlton (6.9)
  6. Blackpool (7.1)
  7. Peterborough (7.5)
  8. Reading (9.3)
  9. Oxford (10.4)
  10. Wycombe (11.5)
  11. Bristol Rovers (11.7)
  12. Leyton Orient (11.9)
  13. Lincoln (14.0)
  14. Exeter (14.1)
  15. Wigan (14.4)
  16. Port Vale (14.9)
  17. Shrewsbury (17.2)
  18. Burton (17.5)
  19. Fleetwood (17.5)
  20. Stevenage (18.0)
  21. Northampton (19.0)
  22. Carlisle (19.4)
  23. Cambridge (19.5)
  24. Cheltenham (19.5)
I'd say, collectively, it was pretty accurate. I don't know if Ian could score that to see how well our average did.

Thank you. So that's roughly sixth. Our 'hive mind' was fairly good this season then.

And factor in two of the three worst performers were an alphabetical list and a randomly generated list with Reading moved top and Oxford bottom.

Not sure I've got the scoring quite right, but mucher better to see most people with a positive score.

Taking those predictions out, you get some minor changes:
  1. Derby (2.1)
  2. Portsmouth (4.1)
  3. Bolton (5.3)
  4. Barnsley (5.4)
  5. Charlton (6.8 )
  6. Blackpool (6.8 )
  7. Peterborough (7.3)
  8. Reading (9.2)
  9. Oxford (9.3)
  10. Wycombe (10.7)
  11. Bristol Rovers (11.5)
  12. Leyton Orient (12.1)
  13. Wigan (14.3)
  14. Exeter (14.4)
  15. Lincoln (14.6)
  16. Port Vale (14.6)
  17. Shrewsbury (17.5)
  18. Fleetwood (17.6)
  19. Stevenage (18.0)
  20. Burton (18.1)
  21. Northampton (19.5)
  22. Cheltenham (20.0)
  23. Carlisle (20.3)
  24. Cambridge (20.3)
May be somewhat more accurate without the alphabetical and random prediction.

As long as everything's been scored consistently, I don't think it matters too much.

Reckon next season will be harder to predict. If Brum and Huddersfield come down you’d expect them to do well but what sort of financial state are they in ? Rotherham are the league 1/champ yo yo team and I’d expect at least play offs but none of Reading Wigan or Blackpool made play offs this season.
We should be much stronger with new owners no points deduction and if we keep the bulk of this young squad together, same goes for Wigan.
Also hard to gauge some of the teams coming up. Wrexham and Stockport both recently National league, can they keep investing and getting stronger or will League 1 be their ceiling ?
Think I’ll have to have a good study over the summer if I’m to keep my prediction crown lol.

Cheers for doing this IR. I am amazed I finished = bronze medal position. Next season will be tricky to predict, but if the ownership goes through I think we’ll finish top 8. I believe the 2025/26 season will be our year, 20 years on from the 106 points.

Next season I can see 8 - 10 reasonably strong teams towards the top with no outstanding teams to dominate the league. Makes it hard to predict.
