So if Scotland or Wales get through to the knockout phases, EFL clubs will just be expected to be ok with not having their best players available to them? Think there is a fair amount of EFL representation in both national sides.

Hopefully this will be the one and only time this ever happens. It is ludicrous to halt a season for the World Cup imo.

A Championship side losing one or two Scottish players in December could result in them losing a game and then at the end of the season missing out on a playoff place by 3 points. Just doesn't seem right to me.

Don't disagree, but meaning no disrespect to those nations, it seems pragmatic to plan for them not to reach the knockout stages, especially since neither has yet even reached the finals.
