The Washington Post Anschutz has a track record of finding undervalued assets and turning them into major players.

G'La READING FC: Coppell to ring the changes

Reading's Steve Coppell is lining up a Portsmouth reunion with two January signings already in the bag.

Out of favour Pompey midifelder Matthew Taylor will join for £4 million having been demoted to the bench by Harry Redknapp.

Coppell's second signing will be Middlesbough's Gary O'Neill for £4 million. The former Popmpey midfielder who only joined Boro' in the August transfer window is keen about a return south after failing to settle in Teesside. Boro' will take a quick profit having only paid an initial £2.5 million to Portsmouth.

Coppell is known to have the promise of plenty more cash available with American Philip Anshutz's £140 million takeover of Reading FC nearing completion.

Just where do these things come from, there must be some awful bored people out there to invent things like this.

More chance of Robbie Fowler scoring the goal that beats Arsenal on MOnday I would think.

Wealthy businessmen wanting to buy football clubs are just like buses, you wait for ages for one to come and then two arrives at the same time!

This bit just sums that website up for me:

Celtic Rumours

Firstly who ever Posted Aston Villa will bid £1 million for Aiden Mcgeady in janurary better start asking a few zero's to that figures. If aide leaves you could be talking in the region £8–£9 million.

So not £1m but £8-9m. That'd be the same amount of zero's then.

Reading Fc Transfers
Reading could ring the changes during the next two transfer periods, to try and push on as a club and get into Europe. These are the deals that Coppell is looking at for January and next Summer:
Out
Leroy Lita – £5 million
Brynjar Gunnarsson – £500 k
Sam Sodje – £500 k
John Halls – £750 k
Graham Stack – £750 k
Simon Cox – £500 k
Nicky Shorey – £6.5 million

In
Victor Anichebe – £7 million
Michael Mancienne – £1.5 million
Matthew Taylor – £4 million
Michael Kightly – £2
Andrew Surman – £1.5 million
Lewis Stevenson – £1.5 million
Federico Agliardi – £3.5 million
Alan Hutton – £3 million
Johan Djourou – £3 million
These are the players that Coppell is watching to see if anything and there is someone he can sign.

I like the sound of £3m for Sodje, Halls, Stack, Gunnarsson and Cox but am less liking the £7m for Anichebe. But seriously I don't think we'll spend £27 in the next 5 years even if we're in the Premiership.

Tripe....

The Hammers will sign 3 Players in the January break. Incoming are Giles Barnes, Nicky Shorey + a forward. Deals for Barnes and Shorey are almost wrapped up already. Both Derby and Reading need cash to fund survival attempts.

Definite truth straight out of Derby.

Darren Moore to leave in January with Southampton his destination. Also expect a few forwards to sign to try and bring in the needed goals names mentioned from my source are Zurawski (500 k) of Celtic Morrison (1.5 million) of Palace and expect an outlandish bid for Leroy Lita (4 million).

My mate is an estate agent near the Reading FC training group and he has told me he showed Peter Crouch, Nicky Hammond and Peter Crouch's agent around a few properies in the last few days.

Crouch and Doyle up front would be a dream partnership for Reading FC.

Everton NEWS
my cousin works at Goodison
lets get things straight here
Everton will buy
s Downing. £5 million ( Middlesbrough )
j Hoyte. £3.5 million ( Arsenal )
s Hunt. £2.5 million ( Reading )
Gilberto. £4 million ( Arsenal )
total = £15 million
( other clubs are interested in Gilberto but will move to Everton as none of other teams interested are in Europe )

£2 for Michael Kightly sounds good

The sales values for our outgoing players are astounding. Fair play to Nicky Hammond if he can get them !

I wouldn't say no to Matty Taylor from Portsmouth. What a legend - we could do with some 40 yard volleys once in a while.

That story's only to keep the number of Nicky's up to quota when Shorey goes for his latest medical at West Ham.

Doyle and Crouch is a nightmare partnership for me. Why get Crouch when we already have Kitson who is just as good and can head the ball.

Check out Anshutz's wikipedia entry, he already owns the Reading Royals, abeit a minor league ice hockey outfit with their catchy 'Proud to be a Royal' strapline!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_Anschutz

Seems to have significant interest in a number of clubs. Could this potentially fall foul of ownership rules.
