Villa, Birmingham and Southampton set to Pounce

by Sir Dodger Royal » 21 Nov 2004 09:37

Hello Boys. Sir Dodger had better not mention the Madman and Cilla because this post is likely to disappear. Obviously a sensitive old boy who appears to have editorial rights on Hob Nob. Still enough of the old gossip. Let's look the Real Facts.

SDR has it on good authority, which means a number of his media chums, that Villa, Birmingham and Saints have been looking very closely at Kitson and are vying to sign him in January.

In fact O'leary was checking him out yesterday. Well at least he won't have been impressed.

So who will win the chase? Will the Madman buy another picture with the proceeds? Or will he invest further in the Club? Who will he be kissing under the mistletoe this Xmas?

What do the RTGs reckon? Will Dodger need to get his Dubbin out and polish up the boots and help the Quiet One out before the slide is really on.

Get Real. Get buying. It's Christmass Timeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Well I have had two posts which dared to mention spending more to achieve stated ambition disappear without trace. And these were constructive, not rude.I know there have been others. So think you are right Sir !

It's a post that should be carted off to the correct forum, unfounded rumours and gossip.

it's a post that shouldn't even appear on the site.
Kitson is a Reading player, and he has said that in an interview himself.
the fact that he is willing to play for us though injured proves that he is a royal.
we will discuss this in january if, and only if, anything happens.
KITSON IS A ROYAL !!

Well I thought it was a very good post, most entertaining, and shedding light on a number of issues that face royals fans over this festive period.

I'd be more concerned for your own team.

£3,000,000 is what birmingham would be prepared to pay Wigan for Ellington so the same figure surely for Kitson.

all of this is bollox, neither are worth £3m, and any Prem clubs that think they are have their minds in the wrong set.

£3.5 for Earnshaw

We already knew, that Birmingham had a £1.2 million offer rejected earlier this season. Old news. Of course he is going to attract scouts from the Premiership

The madman would take £1.5million. Nice turn in his view on £150000 investment.

Wrong decision but Real Facts.

With Birmingham and Villa not playing it's no surprise that they should have people at our game looking at Sidwell,Kitson,Reid and Dawson.
Dawson is the one who really took the eye on Saturday although with our long balls and long throws it seemed as though we were trying to show him in a good light.
Villa are not renowned for signing lower division players and Saints experience with Ormerod plus Brum's with Morrison may mean that they won't be in too much hurry to bid for our Dave.

Fact is, Kitson will say no to a transfer because he has been quoted as saying that he didn't think it was fair to move on to another club within a year of moving to this club.

Regrettably something like "Here you are Dave a £200,000 signing-on fee now and your salary trebled" might just make any of us think about it?

And Pardew said he wanted to finish a job with us. A few weeks later, he was West Ham Manager.

My point is, always take what footballers and managers say with a pinch of salt. They know how to play the media game.

I hope to god Dave doesn't go, he's been absolutely incredible for us. If he does, I hope it is for a BIG fee which we can use to bring in a few quality players.

Well, is Dave Kitson Alan Pardew?

The difference is that Pardew didn't say anything about how short his stay had been, he just said that he would be at the club for a long, long, time. Which turned out to be a complete lie.

Whereas Dave Kitson was saying about how short his stay at Reading has been so far. Think Simon Osborn bugging off after only one season - look at where he is now.

yeh, but i think kitson is a more honest guy. look at pardews situation, west ham is on the doorstep of his home. Kitson will look at it and think, "ill be on the bench whereas at Reading, if we get promoted, ill be played week in week out"

In today's more realistic transfer world, £200k up front for a player with barely a year of experience out of the nether regions of the leagues is thankfully very unlikely to happen. Here's hoping anyway!

The deal is now in jeopardy until Kits shows he has regained his form after injury.

Perhaps a brace against QPR will help his case. £1.5million and the Madman has spotted another masterpiece but unfortunately it will be framed as opposed to wearing the Hoopssssssssssss
