After achieving their first point since the end of SEPTEMBER, the walking dead's shambles of a team now face a trip to Shrewsbury's new ground in an effort to reverse the utterly appalling run of NINETEEN league games on the road with ZERO wins earning a whopping TWO points. Still sporting a 100% away record of 7 defeats from 7 away league games Reading have a real challenge ahead, not to mention being handicapped by both points deductions and their management.
Shrewsbury are 19th, the heighths of which Reading can only dream. Form for the Shrews is 2 wins from the last 5 and 3 defeats in the last 3, so a team in form almost as wretched as Reading. One helpful factor in this one though, as Reading look to avoid completing a full 12 months without an away league win, is the paucity of goals for the Shropshire outfit having scored just 6 in the league to date (the last of which arrived 3 games and 3 weeks ago in beating Derby 1-0).
Reading's injury list really comprises just the out of favour Ejaria and the perma-crocked McIntyre, while Mbengue will complete his 3 match suspension and Savage will serve his 1 game ban prize for being the first to reach 5 yellows. It is also hoped Mola will continue to be omitted.

Historically
The last meeting in Shrewsbury was a 2-1 win for Reading back in October 1991 at Gay Meadow, one of 26 shared season between the clubs. Reading won just 5 league games at Shrewsbury and have lost 14 so a bit of a graveyard for the biscuitmen overall.
