Re: BFTG Millwall

JakeTheRoyal Gunter is too busy getting into a little scrap every game rather than play football

Do you think being captain is having an effect?

Re: The truth about Royston...

Thing is, it will take him a couple of months to get fit - if he's on fire come January and we're in a good position (financially and league position wise) then its a bonus for us and could end up being important for the final few months. Basically we're just letting Sheff Wed get him fit, pay his ...

Re: CONFIMRED - Sean Morrison signs for Cardiff

Just listened to Morro on BBCRB and the story he put was a bit different. He said the approach and bid was made to the club after OGS watched him at Wigan. The club confirmed the bid was acceptable and notified the player. He said it came out of the blue and that he was happy here. Made all the rig...

Re: BFTG - Newport County (H)

Couple that with the fact that we put out a strong side against one of the teams who are favourites for relegation to The Conference and we are no wiser about our best (available) side for the upcoming league game v Ipswich. I think that the fact we had our strongest side against relegation favouri...

Re: BFTG - Wigan away

Victor Meldrew With Obita going to left midfield when Guthrie came on it sounds as though our shape was better and we scored 2 goals and nearly won the game.

But starting like this would have been a real gamble as Guthrie missed all the preseason games

Re: Pre-season friendlies 2014

Edwards impressing, first time I've seen anything of him. What sort of a fan are you? And where exactly did you see him? Youth game behind closed doors or in Australia? Just to show off I did see him playing a first team game for Perth Glory. Before his dad was sacked, and I thought he was good, bu...

An interesting read, especially the last paragraph - So how should it feel being a supporter of a fan owned club?

Re: Start a fans Trust in case of administration

Pat Butchers Ring Board meeting for a comment? I guess the club ownership will be last thing on the agenda right after the price of the tomato & basil soup. Get some back bone STAR and start being the fans voice.

you should read this:

No mention of soup there though

Sutekh
starliaison There's a longer than usual statement on the STAR website about the ownership situation.

There's also a response from a STAR Board member to the comment thread on TTE on a similar subject.

And the URL for the STAR site is.... ?

Re: Buyout

It's standard for company directors to be paid. Why would they do it otherwise. He probably does nothing apart from attend board meetings and raise his hand when told, pretty good money for that. I doubt Ian Wood-Smith does the job for nothing either. Until TSI came along the directors remuneration...

Re: It's a generational thing

First went to a game in 1969 but both parents used to go before I was born and my mum used to go with her dad in 1940s. In fact my grandfather played there I think, he was a regular goalie at Henley. Don't know anything about his father I'm afraid.

Re: Administration

HMRC are much quicker to take action on unpaid PAYE/NI these days and the Football League also monitor the situation now. But just stop to think how much wages would need to to have been paid to cause £20M to be due or over what period it built up without any chasing by anybody. That it is why it i...

Re: Administration

I doubt the position with the training ground is the same as it was last time the question arose - deal done subject to planning, and until that comes through we haven't paid for it. The golf club presumably leased the land and when their lease ran out they left. How we proceed will depend on what ...

Plenty of WB beer being bandied about outside the East stand today....sadly, I couldn't be arsed to join one of the lengthy queues. Great to see, but can it be allowed to last? it must be impacting on the foyer takings surely. According to the STAR management meeting notes the beer franchise is due...

sandman Incredibly easy. Went on latest news and it was there.

Fine for those with computers but disenfranchised a lot of people who do not, or who decided not to have the emails.

All because it was previously done by the Chronicle.

Re: Madejski Sold out and failed again

Isn't/wasn't Bill Kenwright a good mate of Madejski's? If so, I presume that either Madejski didn't speak to him (strange) or did and decided to ignore his input on the basis that he knew better (stupid). Or you could equally presume Kenwright told him to be careful and not sell 100% until he was s...

They were counting Cube - there was a girl in a Reading track suit with a clicker in her hand.

I would agree with the comment on giving the ball away but there was some good passing moves too so there is promise there.

To me the main difference was the speed of the ball.

No prizes for guessing where the £5m cash went then. And paying Directors £517k in 2013 as opposed to the zero when SJM and Hill-Woods ran things.... I wouldn't know a TSI director if I fell over one. Do they still attend games? No idea which directors were paid but certainly some still attend - bu...

Re: Accounts

STAR has posted the now annual analysis of the accounts on its website. It is an interesting analysis as the author is allowed to ask questions of the club to clarify some matters rather than just based on assumptions.
