Re: Champions League, Europa League & Europa Conference League 24/25

3 goals that are all penalties shouldn't count as a hat-trick #Winstfacts They should be only if he took one with his right foot, one with his left foot and somehow headed in the third. I saw Trevor Morley scored a penalty rebound with his head, does that count? No, initial penalty has to be a divi...

Re: Champions League, Europa League & Europa Conference League 24/25

Raya's double save is getting way overhyped. Not taking anything away from the initial penalty save, that was excellent, but the follow up save is an absolute fvck up by the striker heading it back into the middle of the goal where Raya was rather than into gaping emptiness of the right hand side of...

he is a good example of someone who spent his whole career moving around clubs, gradually working his down the levels as he failed to succeed at every club he joined, but always continuing to get more opportunities simply because he is already in the world of football and has played for other clubs...

Having checked it looks like my plans to attend a match may be scuppered by Bristol Rovers being a 12:30 kick off.

KFOAE etc Does anyone go to matches anymore

How many of us still go to matches? I might be back in Reading for a reunion weekend at the end of October and was half thinking of putting myself through the misery of watching a match having not been for years,

Chelsea making Fernandez captain singing a racist song in the summer tells you all you need to know about the club.

Harrison Delbridge Wtf is that badge though

Its their initials in a yellow circle, in a glorious 70s style. I'd have loved to have seen the graphic designer who came up with it pitching it to Leeds board of directors at the time.

Pains me to say it but I think Adidas have done a decent job with Leeds 70s retro style kits.

bcubed The FA have said previously that a succession plan is in place

Succession you say? Get down the bookies and put money on Steve Holland's spouse getting the job.

Re: England Vs. Spain

and the likes of Walker and Guehi are hardly liabilities. I'd argue that Walker has been a bit of one in this tournament, his positional sense has always been a bit suspect and most the time in club football his pace is enough to get him out of trouble. At international level it isn't. Both goals o...

Re: England Vs. Spain

One last thing. Kane was clearly well below par all tournament, and yet was its joint top scorer. Not bad. Two penalties and a header. I love him, but very suddenly, and notwithstanding his excellent season for Bayern, he looks a little like one of those strikers who gets to 31/32 and disappears, a...

Lets give ITV a bit of praise for their usually shit football coverage. At least they didn't employ Ferdinand for the tournament.

Ref has clearly seen the Slovenian player feigned injury and dived. So why not book him? Ridiculous. Yeh I don't get this Noone seems to even suggest players doing this should be booked these days.. Someone got booked for diving early on in this tournament. Dunno which game it was, could have been ...

Re: The general Euro2024 chit chat thread

The poor playing surface really hindered Ronaldo on that penalty. Nah, it was a decent enough penalty that 95% of the time would have gone in, it was just an outstanding save. Like in the shootout they weren't awful penalties just great saves and sometimes you just have to credit the keepers for be...

genome Spurs nick Archie Gray for £40m

Good signing for the future. Only downside is it puts Leeds in a real position of financial power in the Championship.

Does it? I was thinking its more of a got to get money in cos the finances are utterly fvcked again type of sale.

Re: England - the future....

I think Kane will try and make it to the next World Cup, I'm not sure he should be such a nailed on starter from now on. But even Toney and Watkins will be 30 by the World Cup finals so we could really do with a young speedy striker breaking through in the next 18 months.

Re: Generic England Euro '24 Thread

Would I like us to win the tournament playing fast free flowing attacking football that blows the opposition away? Yes.
Would I give two shits if we won it by playing like last night and pretty much fluking our way through the tournament? No.
