Sidders is not THAT good. When I went Villa and some of their fans asked about Sidwell my words were simply "Not as key as everyone makes him out to be". Personally I think Sidwell is replaceable, but I'd rather keep hold of him than lose him and possibly make a mess of an excellent team ...

Thanks for the history - how interesting!!

So have I got it right when I think that actually Liverpool and Everton used to be the same club who just split over the disagreement?

If so how very interesting.

Can someone remind me of our record WITHOUT Sidwell last season and this? IIRC not having him made little difference - but I could be wrong. If our greatness is down to only one man it's STEVE COPPELL and no-one else. This guy can make a bunch of Sunday League players look good. Sidwell is doing wel...

Scott's wondergoal against Bradford definitely denies him a place in our nightmare XI.

I'm not certain it did from what I can tell from the above.

In any case, it seems to praising him quite a lot.

I'd be upset if I was him. How is it that fans in the ground were the last to know? Not professional enough. Why? What difference did the extra 15 minutes make to you? Ever thought they might have spent the time warning stewards, car park people, busses etc? Everyone suddenly leaving at 2.30 whilst...

I totally agree with Coppell. He's got it spot on. The £28million survival prize of the Prem is too huge a prize to risk with the injuries and distraction of a cup we will almost certainly never win. Coppell is a winner. A winner sets his targets and sticks by them. A loser faffs around and is sway...

Despite having slated Harper in the past I'm not too surprised as his performance at this level as most of us who slated him said he'd be mroe sutied to the Prem, and just isn't as good in scrappy lower leagues. Sidders - never much doubt. Murts - nto too much surprise, although we were never sure. ...

Steve Swales (sp?) was a decetn down to earth lad. When he had a great spell of performance we had a ncie chat where he played it down massively saying he was just doing his best and it was the whole team which was doing well. LOL he was a oxf*rd - punched me in Utopia once when he was off his face...
