Re: Do you agree with todays pitch invasion and match abandonment?

The other problem with a boycott is that a lack of money in will just hurt the staff for more missed payments, points deductions for us, maybe more redundancies, and might cause a successful winding up order. I suspect this is what the club statement is referring to with regard to impact on staff. ...

Re: Do you agree with todays pitch invasion and match abandonment?

I have had a banner made I hoping to get displayed at our Wolves game next Monday which is on TV. I don't know how to upload an image but it says Brighton Fans want Dia Yongge out Save Reading FC Fans United It's a small gesture but I hope that if they see fans of other clubs care, it may help. Any...

Re: Selles In

Ruben’s interview with The Chronicle today suggests he’s not far from packing it in. Getting nothing encouraging from the owner, losing his coaching team around him, having to front-up to the media for all the crap, etc. No wonder he is mentally tired. Just read it and yes he does sound pretty fed ...

Earnshaw responding to questions on Twitter that there are still 3 or 4 parties interested, but no real progress and we're basically back to where we were in early November. So don't expect anything imminent, but don't give up hope that we're stuck with him. Originally we wanted him gone by January...

Man United have hardly built a reputation for good decision making in the last decade however.

Can I just clarify here that both of you are suggesting Charlie Savage might be good enough to play for Man United one day?

The way they are going he might just be

Re: MATCHWATCH : Exeter City (h)

The corner has been turned, whether we take another wrong turn down useless street is more than possible though I certainly ain't getting excited over 9 or 12 games. We've had 20 or 40 good ones and still returned to utter shit. I want to see results AND performances over a sustained period. And th...

Re: Selles In

Our football is rubbish. There's obviously more mistakes in general and teams at the bottom will clearly be poor, but most teams play better football than us imo. We're very kick and rush, and results are basically down to having a few top quality L1 players, like Wing, Smith, Knibbs and Azeez out ...

From Despair To Where? If better teams are interested in him, I can only see him coming here if we guarantee game time.

Which we don't really want as, allegedly, we have had loans with that stipulation before and had to keep starting the players when there were better players on the bench.

Re: Selles In

Yes, I was just thinking that injuries and fatigue will pile up for the rest of the division, as it will for us to some extent, whilst our players should be reducing their inexperience the longer it goes on, which is our biggest playing weakness. And, wearing my rose-tinted glasses, we do seem to h...

Re: Selles In

His attitude was that the Academy players weren’t good enough, we weren't able to play football and compete with the same skill as other teams in the division and he had experienced alternatives. I'd hope he'd have recognised that in a lower league our young players very much do have the skill and ...

Re: Selles In

It may be a controvertial opinion, and I'm not saying sacking him was the wrong call at all, but in retrospect I think Ince would have done a better job in L1 than Selles under the same circumstances. Even though he was very poor in the Champ and ignored and belittled our youth. Very controversial ...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

I’ll tell you what I’m oxf*rd impressed how just over 200 Reading fans have raised almost £6k for the Reading staff so far. Yes an average of almost £30 each is pretty good going. Presume anything left in the fund will be held over for the next failure... It does make me wonder how much money we’d ...

Re: Next 7 league games

blythspartan I am going for a fairly optimistic set of results, but suspect IR may well be right.

Barnsley (H) 7th - W
Oxford (H) 3rd - W
Lincoln (A) 9th - D
Wigan (H) 14th - W
P'Boro (A) 5th - L
Cheltenham (A) - W
Exeter (H) - W

Fairly optimistic? That's promotion form ;)

Re: Selles In

Snippet from Wikipedia entry for 2011-12 season - Despite a poor start, which saw them 23rd in the table at one point, Reading went on to win 17 of 23 games in the second half of the season, securing the Championship title and ensuring promotion back to the Premier League. McDermott was named the L...
