Re: Reading players out of contract in summer 2020

Sad to see him go, had a lot of time for Danny Loader and felt he could and should have been given more of an opportunity in the first team (instead of bring played in midfield the only time he had any sort of run in the team). In the circumstances, can hardly blame him for this decision and persona...

Re: Rumour - Danny Loader to Wolves

Sounds like I’m in a minority of one here, but I think young Danny is probably the brightest of our Crown Jewels and could be a top player in the future. Don’t think you can judge him too much on recent games where he’s been played out of position in midfield. Hugely relieved and thankful that we’ve...

Re: Where will we finish?

Hoping for relative safety in 16th or thereabouts, but fearing relegation for all the reasons mentioned.

On the other hand way back in Summer 2005 I did a long detailed post on here arguing why we were destined for a mid-table finish... so you never know

Re: BFTG - Birmingham City

The Times has Moore as its Championship Player of the Week, and also has both him and Gunter in the Championship team of the week Gunter??? That completely overrated waste of space who only knows how to go backwards, can't defend and is usually the only reason we concede? Clearly The Times ...

Re: Ipswich ( H ) match thread sponsored by Ivar Ingimarsson and Jay Tabb

If you have to "watch" a game via BBC text stream from some foreign shore, like I did tonight, that wasn't a bad one to "watch". Up to third place, that'll do nicely! :D

Re: Rumour - Asamoah Gyan

I see the press are saying Fulham were also interested, but couldn't afford his wages. Which makes it an exact parallel with Pog, in that Fulham couldn't afford him at the time either. Anyone getting a feeling of deja vu here? But to say it's like the pog deal is laughable. It's a year loan f...

Re: Tim Dellor

Dellor is brilliant at what he does IMO, clearly passionate about Reading and not afraid to speak his mind. BBCRB would be a poorer place without him. Really hope Vydra comes good, there's a class act in there somewhere, struggling to get out. Him and Sa together up front would seem a very natural c...

Re: Who would you like us to sign should Blackman leave?

I do worry that with Blackman leaving, we have Sa, Vydra and not a lot else up front, so a decent option off the bench is needed so someone like Dack or Bradshaw could be a worth a punt. More importantly though, we need to find a formation and starting line up that works, fitting round pegs in roun...

Re: RUMOUR: Clarke to Fulham

You can't blame someone working in this business for looking at other alternatives when approaches are made. Of course he can be blamed, and criticised for it. You can understand it, maybe even sympathise to a degree but it's a poor thing to do and he's put himself in a bad position purely as a res...

Re: RUMOUR: Clarke to Fulham

Jagermesiter1871 Why is everyone jumping to the conclusion that Clarke wanted out?

Typical modern fickle fans. Absolute joke the lot of you. How about we wait and see who made the moves before we hang up one of our own as judas?

Re: Back from the sofa

In a remote corner of the Med, came back from family meal (had seen the half-time score) and raced to the iPad. Took a while to get live streaming working, then strapped the headphones on... just in time to see the third goal go in - perfect timing! What a performance, and what a result! And so much...

Re: Roundup

Frankly, any Reading fan who isn't happy tonight needs to consider their position. I'm seriously tempted to place some bets on our season but will probably, as usual, do SFA about it :P Just having my own window on this campaign watching the best assembled squad in our history for a mere £400 feels...

Re: Wednesday Match Thread (A) Sponsored by £30 Match Ticket

Obita took that whack to the leg and was in clear pain for the last 15 minutes of the first half on Sunday. Could just be not wanting to play him with a knock when there's a perfectly good left back on the bench. This... plus we have another game in 3 days time. If Obita is less than 100%, makes se...

SCIAG There's one foolproof way to improve the atmosphere - improve the quality of the football. If we win and score, the crowd will respond.

Re: BFTG - Leeds

My trick has always been to stay on the concourse and drink beer until just before kick-off - they can have a Sasima-led karaoke band with choreographed Thai ladyboy dancers every week for all I care, so long as they are off the pitch by 2:58  But even so... yes, the whole build-up thing was ex...
