Re: Back from the game - Millwall (A)

great away day. Rattler up to town, few beers and some grub at London Bridge. Very average match but great win. HRK's goal was superb. Very good atmosphere in the away end. Dire home support - quite embarassing for them really. Train ride back to London Bridge was good. As was the singing on the pla...

Re: Great Starts at Reading

Not quite the answer but..... Jim Leighton had a shocker first match on loan, then was practically unbeaten after that. (did we lose 5-3 or something) Matthew Upson - see above. Trying to think if anyone from 85-6 team would have had a good start to their Royals career given the start to the season ...

Re: Is Feds the best Keeper Reading have ever had?

Bandini Steve Francis > Trevor Senior > Feds

I agree.

Francis playes in a mainly awful team. He used to make lots and lots of great saves and still end up on the losing side.

Senior must be the best ever as he never evre conceded a a goal? Right?

Re: Reading's best ever centre back?

Martin Hicks, despite helping Reading conceded 6 goals at home twice - Palace and Blackburn, there was no better hoofer of the ball. That was the best of British football. You didn't have to be able to pass then as a center back. How times have changed at Reading. Just can't compare eras, styles of...

Re: Reading's best ever centre back?

I never saw Steve Wood play for Reading but I caught the tail end of Martin Hicks Reading career and he was very good. My top three is 1) Adie Williams 2) Dariusz Wdowczyk 3) Ivar Ingimarsson. Hicksy was a proper old fashoned "Stopper". Unbeatable in the air, uncompromising on the deck an...

Arch No mention for Steve Wood yet?

In the lower leagues Steve Wood was a very classy defender. I think he won player of the season twice, maybe even consecutive years.

he did indeed. He and Hicks were a great partnership.

Friday's Legacy i won't be satisfied until the stadium is renamed the Ivan Drago Stadium and his statue stands proudly outside the south stand.

Would much prefer the Tony Drago stadium in honour of the 80's Maltese Snooker Legend....

Saw a comment on Twitter from Nicky Forster about "his boy" scoring for BHA youth team.....Caught my eye as his name was Caskey.. so did a bit of investigation... (googled him) From Wikipedia.. (so may not be true...etc etc.) Jake Dane Forster-Caskey (born 25 April 1994) is a professional ...

another good away trip like stevenage last year would be ideal.

Definitely a bit of a :| but there is a hatred of us there from them. It’s not that surprising though as Aldershot makes Reading look like San Francisco. LOLOLOL. Living round the corner from the glittering Metropolis that is Aldershit, i have to concurr. Went to the rec in 88? on Easter Monday. St...

Re: Biggest away attendance

what about AFCB away in 1994. Last game of the season (and we'd already won the league), moved to a Thursday night due to Dorset's finest still being a little twitchy about policing "high profile" end of season games after Leeds re-decorated the town 3-4 years before. Not sure exactly how...

Re: Whats up with Colin?

He has always had complimentary things to say about us as a club, particularly under Coppell, it's just individuals, or specifically, Wally Downes, he's had an issue with and he's hardly alone in that. Remember, from 2001 to 2007, we and Sheffield Utd were never separated by more than a place in th...
