Wednesday 8 December 1982 Football League Group Cup Quarter Final Reading 5-3 Watford (aet) I’d been married less than a year and been “allowed out” to see the game. Memory is a bit hazy but I’...

Re: First Reading game?

My Dad took me, aged 9, on 22 January 1966 to an FA Cup 3rd Round tie at Elm Park against Sheffield Wednesday, including England’s goalkeeper Ron Springett (this was the year Wednesday got through to the final and were beaten by Everton). We got beat 2-3 but it didn’t put me off. Living in Crowthorn...

Re: things you have seen in your time supporting Reading

82/83 The group cup quarter final had paired reading at home to watford, who were second in Division One when they came to elm Park. A virtually full strength watford took the lead through luther Blissett after only 3 minutes and although gary donnellan equalised, John Barns scored two second half ...

Memory's a bit hazy on this one but ... sometime in the late 70s/early 80s ... an evening cup match against ??? ... 0-3 down with about 20 minutes left ... winning 5-3 in extra time. Anybody fill in the blanks?

I don't post very often but sometimes the lack of common sense on this board makes me seethe! :x Racism = hatred or intolerance of another race or other races. This thread = celebration/recognition of a group of players with a common characteristic. Would a thread picking the best team of Irish play...
