Re: Most ever losses in the FA Cup?

Fifa classes losing on penalties is classed as a draw. So i think this stat is a bit more complicated than first suggested.

Most times being knocked out works better.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Harborough Town (h)

Harborough’s first shouldn’t have been given after the amount of shirt pulling from the Harborough player who scored. Don’t understand why Kanu got a second booking for what is essentially two players giving a shoulder barge to each other with the Harborough player then going down like someone had ...

Re: Bindon to be sold

spoke to my contact. The club interested is Arsenal. And the 9 mill is correct, but its not 9 mill upfront. I'm amazed that your source continues to leak to you knowing full well it goes straight on hobnob. Not criticising you, just surprised that person is so sanguine about allowing their inside i...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Newport County (h)

He’s useful enough and signs of improvement In our situation we were never going to bring in a top notch player. What we have done is found someone who can fit the system and the team ethic If it’s between keeping him and nobody in Jan then I’d happily see him stay. If we’re allowed to look elsewhe...

Any pubs recommended pre match? I swear 10 years ago this forum would have dedicated threads for each way game as to where people were drinking prior. Where does this discussion happen now, Snapchat? The Football Ground Guide mentions: ⋅ The stadium club house ⋅ The Old Post Off...

I think Garcia is more impressive as a 16 year old than Olise was as an 18 year old.

Snowflake Royal Delightful. Thought a hintof offside but it looks a good run in highlight and a lively finish.

I didn't celebrate assuming it was going to be ruled out.

Re: You're the new Owner - What's your 2 Year Plan for Success

I may have dreamt it but I’m sure there was a discussion saying that if we drop to cat 2 academy again that’s it. We can’t get cat 1 back again. Ever. I have no idea whether that’s true or not. But if it is I would do everything possible to keep it. As this last two season have shown just how impor...

Re: CONFRIMED: Latest rumours Confrimed as Unconfrimed

I think I got us off topic . . . So, with regards to the Chinese bank thing - James Earnshaw says that it's not a concern, and that's good enough for me. My thoughts though are that the bank might be using the asset to basically blackmail Dai into paying back as much of the £55m as possible. I don'...

Re: CONFRIMED: Latest rumours Confrimed as Unconfrimed

Can someone explain how an overseas company can have a charge on the stadium, a UK asset? Is there some place in the UK that registers these charges, otherwise how would any buyer know how many other companies in the world that have loaned Dai money have also got charges on the stadium. Do BVI cour...

Re: CONFRIMED: Latest rumours Confrimed as Unconfrimed

These really are the sorts of things that will jeopardise the club's future. Dai not being able to sell the club even if he wanted to. If the lender in BVI has a charge over the stadium, they will want all of the proceeds of the stadium. And if the loan is of a greater value than the stadium, then D...

Re: CONFRIMED: Latest rumours Confrimed as Unconfrimed

Can't help but feel that someone writes a half sentence on a social site, a bot picks it up and uses chatGPT to flesh out an 'article' on it (which is mostly just fluff and rewording, to make it sound like they're ITK). Then other bots pick it up and do the same. In that fleshing-out process, the w...

Sanguine Fcuk me. The 23-24 tax year finished six months ago. There is no reasonable excuse whatsoever for the 22-23 accounts to be late. None.

There is if your auditor refuses to sign off your going concern basis and therefore insists you need to prepare the accounts on the break up basis.

Re: CONFRIMED: Takeover collapsed; Back to square one

Yeah but sell on clauses go to the club, not the (former) owner. And as Howe found out, any third party payments are illegal. It's more likely he wanted some Premier League promotion kickback. I recall SJM had a clause where he got more from Zingarevich when RFC were promoted the season he sold the...

Re: CONFRIMED: Takeover collapsed; Back to square one

It sounds Dai wanted to sell to someone who would let him keep control or at least reap some reward from a new buyers efforts. No chance of that. Once you sell you need to walk away. It also doesn't stack up with him wanting to sell the training ground. He's seen transfer sell on clauses (which alw...

Any chance that last week's performance was buoyed by the imminent takeover and the stalling of the takeover this week has somewhat dimmed player morale?

Re: Olise

Hmmm, I think he’s telling the FA he negotiated a fee with Palace that included his 10% sell-on clause (ie. Reading and Palace were happy with the sums involved and had agreed a schedule of payments.) otherwise, it seems odd it’s just referred to obliquely here, and not made clear in the evidence a...

No one from Reading ever went to watch them. If people from Reading don't turn up and watch, there is no reason for foreign rich peopl...
