I have been a supporter for nearly 40 years and had a season ticket for more than 20 and used to go to a lot of away games as well. Over the last few 5 or 6 years I have i have not enjoyed watching Reading's style of play and have increasingly gone to watch Hungerford Town in National League South. ...
Hungerford Town. Going well in National League South and in need of increased support. A few good local derbies too against the likes of Slough, Oxford City and Chippenham.
On the subject of goalkeepers, Legg was on loan at Hungerford in national League South last season and was pretty good. This season he has been replaced by Lewis Ward and I have seen them both quite a bit as I have a season ticket at Hungerford. I would say Ward is the better keeper. Reading watch h...
I certainly didn't blindly believe him, far too cynical for that but nevertheless I did think we would buy a few decent players to replace those departing and there would be a genuine attempt at rebuilding with promotion in view given the financial rewards implicit in promotion and JM's desire to se...
OK folks, time for a reality check. Most people seem to think we should be a Premier League club based on the comments on this site. But why? No doubt this is based entirely on 2 seasons in the Prem with a team punching well above its weight. This has been an exceptional period in the club's history...
I'm with R&A on this one. It's all to do with expectations. Back in the Elm Park days losing 2-0 at home to Darlington in front of 2500 didn't hurt like it does now because we were a lower division club run on a shoestring with little if any expectation of getting to the 2nd tier never mind the ...
The only reason to have a season ticket is to guarantee getting your seat. I won't renew because with crowds of around 10,000 in Div1 there won't be a problem getting a ticket and financially it makes sense if like me you can't face seeing every single home game when we are served up such dross.
I couldn't agree more with your comments Royal & Ancient. In more than 25 years supporting this club I have never felt so disillusioned. The whole concept of "ballancing the books" cannot be achieved by simply cutting costs (by disposing of our best players) because the result will ine...
There are still 35 games to go but after over 25 years of supporting RFC I feel I have been ripped off this season so I'm starting to think the answer is no!
