Re: Forest Home - Predictions

Hard one to call.

If they play like first 20 mins Vs Leeds (prob unlikely as they are away) we've had it with our defence.

They are very much a confidence side - I think if we score early we will win this.

Re: Reading vs Pompey(A) Match Thread (2/46)

Whenever I have seen Pearce he has been poor. He reminds me of John Mackie - not quite good enough for the league he is playing in.

Oh well at least we are not bottom with Preston being hammered.

Re: Mcd says we haven't got any cash....

I just find it annoying that around 2 sides a day in the championship are getting young prem players in on loan with the liklihood the prem club are picking up most of the wages and we are sitting back doing nothing when on saturday we will have a donkey and someone playing out of position against a...

Re: 17th

I think you'll find that 17th is the prediction from Chris Kamara. A year ago, he predicted Peterboro to WIN the Championship !!! So I think it is safe to assume that his predictions are garbage. No he didn't. ER....YES HE DID ! I think he predicted Peterboro would finish in the playoffs. He always...

Re: Favourite season opener of recent times?

Don't think it was actually the first game of the season, but was at least the first home game when the Madejski was opened. 1998 Reading 3 Luton 0 Brebner,Mcintyre,Fleck att 18108 with the famous Rob Styles as referee. That wasn't the first game of the season, it wasn't even the second. The opener ...

Re: Favourite season opener of recent times?

Anyone remember 1975/76?

We scored a goal that hit the side netting on outside and it was given - good omen as we went up.

Mate is a box holder at Spurs and knows some of the backroom team.

If he plays well until xmas they will bid in Jan - Redknapp is a big fan.

Was there a pre season competition called the group cup in the early 1980's?

Re: POLL - What are your expectations this season?

If we stay injury free play offs is possible but lack of cover in defence could undo us.

I think Middlesboro will do much better this time around and QPR could be dangerous

Re: Graham Kemp

We had a guy play for us in a pre season game and scored a hat trick Vs Brentford I think who played football in Prospect Park for West Reading on the pitch by the bowling green.

I think it was early 80' s cannot remember his name - he was a west indian guy.

My brother was 9 (I was 6) in 1971.

Don't think that would happen now - I didn't let my 2 boys go on their own at that age

Re: Penalty miss is still haunting Archie

2005/2006 more than made up for it. That campaign finally blew away the 1995 cobwebs and in many ways I'd have taken defeat that day if it had meant witnessing such a brilliant side storming the Championship soon thereafter. It did but in a way it didn't. It still hurt big time watching it the othe...

Re: Best RFC goalie of all time?

Out of loyalty and service to the club, for a record which stood 30 years, and a few PFA divisional awards along the way I'd go for Steve Death as title is best RFC goalie. I know most of career was in 4th division but the points he saved us over the years was amazing - he also saved quite a few pen...
