Re: Bindon to be sold

loved it when this thread went off piste and started talking about favourite shirts. I live in NZ and have tried wearing my (last seasons) shirt to bed when Reading play, with the theory that it might help. My wife disapproves but I persisted long enough to discover that it made no difference. Just ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Peterborough United (a)

Have they got undersoil heating? I'm 40 miles from Peterborough and it's been sub zero day and night since Monday. Location royals who no longer live in stated location. Turns out it wasn't as integral to your identity as you once envisaged I guess. Furthestflungfan here. 31° currently in Melbourne...

Re: TAKEOVER ALL BUT CONFIMRED

Does anyone have quick access to the photo of a weird bunch of apparent gangsters that we all saw in the directors box last year? We all wondered who they were! One was asleep, several others looked very shifty, there was a classic gangster's moll, and one was Rob Couhig in a black fedora hat. I lov...

What's in a name?

As we mourn the dearth of signings so far this season, we can only reflect on who we've had in the past. When the gloriously named Max Power came to town with Wigan a couple of years ago, I fell to thinking about what my Reading dream team would be, based solely on their names. Here goes: Death, Sav...

Re: Renewed pessimism/interest

Have just lost meekly to Millwall...assume that this thread will now kick up a gear or two!! So far we have words like meek, languid and timid to describe our style of play. No passion of pace in evidence. What I do know is that without a striker, there will never be a sense of purpose to a team's m...

Re: How Nervous Are We All?

I'm a clinical psychologist (- could be handy later today!) The correct question is "How confident are we?" It frames a positive mindset. Sadly, my answer at the moment is "Not very..."

Re: Where are you watching the final (if not at Wembley)?

Marlborough Sounds , New Zealand. 14,000 kms away!! Have full coverage through Be In Sport on Sky Sport, including a 90 minute build up programme!! Its been so hard following Reading this season on TV, but suddenly all my Xmases have come at once!! I'm tremulous, drunk and I'm in my pyjamas  . ...

Aaron Kuhl?

I posted on Aaron a couple of years ago having only seen him warm up once on the touchline for 10 minutes or so. I was very impressed. Since then he's been out on loan to a Scottish side, and he doesn't seem to have figured at all in the pre-season banter. Don't think he went to Holland or Swindon, ...

Re: Bottle, Heart, Commitment, Guts: "The Reading DNA"

This is an incredibly important thread and should become the main focus for whats left of the season. Rating the players for 'Bottle Heart Commitment and Guts' is more relevant now than whether they played well or not. We're all getting sick of the not chasing back, the hanging off tackles, and the ...

Re: BFTG - Rotherham

It's a bit weird commenting on a game that I had to get up early to follow using online newsfeeds from 13,000 miles away in NZ, but here goes! Sometimes distance brings clarity re the bigger picture... Our form in the League has been hugely disappointing and 'turgid' would have to be the best word ...

Watched live on TV in NZ. An immense performance. So proud...I did a kind chicken dance when we scored... all by myself at 5am in the morning! Felt like I was there! We MUST remember how to play like this next season!

Aaron Kuhl

I watched Kuhl warming up against Ipswich at the start of this season, and could hardly take my eyes off him! A nippy, skilful player with energy to burn. He looked fantastic, and was definitely one for the future. Since then we've only seen scraps of him. He's always referred to positively in passi...

In Dunedin, New Zealand's South Island! 13,000 miles from the Madejski stadium, but on the edge of my seat! First time Reading have been live on TV in NZ since the heady Premiership days!
2-0 Reading. Mackie and the Pog.
