Re: McDermott - " I want to manage Ireland"

expecting a response of "he's not English so he can oxf*rd off"....go and manage your own country..

I was referring to the Tin Pot nation insult.......anyway all this future international management business is irrelevant; Brian McDermott will be Reading FC Manager for the forseeable.

Re: McDermott - " I want to manage Ireland"

It's just his long term ambition. Fair play to him. He will need to prove he's worthy of consideration first. And how will he ever do that? Run a successful team in the premiership for a few years perhaps? May be after a decade of top flight football with rfc Ireland may come knocking. Til then chil...

Re: Claret & Blue Congratulations

Just heard an interview with the odious Ms Karren Brady on BBC Berkshire. Her non stop self promotion 'she's sell tickets on herself' is enough to make anyone dislike West Ham or at least hope they fail to go up. She pushes her book, talks American psycho babble and supports West Ham. They can keep ...

FootyMad's prediction ... "FootyMad see this game edging towards a narrow win for the Royals, as the Foxes have been none too clever on the road in recent matches. Home win" http://www.leicestercity-mad.co.uk/news/prev/fm_preview_reading_v_leicester_city_16_apr_2011_668036/index.shtml?utm_...

Re: Leicester: I'm awfully looking forward to seeing

From the Leicester FC fans forum it appears they don't fancy their chances, much........ "Next up is probably our biggest game of the season. Reading are absolutely flying at the moment, so much so that they’ll be starting to aim for automatic promotion rather than just the play-offs, and that ...

Cork City set to be wound up

Sounds like Reading FC's 'excellent relationship' with Cork City may be coming to an end very soon :( :( The League of Ireland Premier Division has been struck a crushing blow with the news that Cork City are set to be wound up. The announcement comes on the back of a second sitting at the High Cour...

Re: Old Kit

69-74 is the best kit IMO. Although the current Waitrose sponsored top is one that I like a lot. The 69-74 kit plus all the kits in the 70's didn't stray far from the hoops all the way round, white shorts and white socks. For a decade plus Reading stuck to basically the same kit. That's probably why...

Re: NO LONGER A RUMOUR - Doyle to Wolves for £6.5m

Ha. My predictions for Reading are sometimes obscured by RTG's 8) That said I'm not sure what to expect this season from Rodgers Reading. Play offs? Too early to say until we know the new signings. Either way I wish Kevin Doyle every success yet at the same time I'd like to see Wolves relegated. Ha

Re: NO LONGER A RUMOUR - Doyle to Wolves for £6.5m

Only death is certain. The bookies offer a chance to win £3.80 if Wolves go down without paying a £30 penalty to you if they do not. So your bet is not you sticking your neck out as you only stand to lose £3.80. I also predicted Reading would avoid relegation in the 1st season in the prem but tarnis...

Re: NO LONGER A RUMOUR - Doyle to Wolves for £6.5m

"If you're so confident I'll offer you those odds and you offer me 3-1 they stay up" The bookies are offering 11/8 Wolves get relegated. £1.38 for every £1 staked so a ten quid bet might make me £3.80 if Wolves go down. If your 3-1 bet wins (Wolves stay up), you'll receive £3 for every £1...

yeah np I just noticed that too. Anyway Wolves are far from offering Kevin Doyle a long term future in the prem. Good luck to him. He deserves his chance.

Re: NO LONGER A RUMOUR - Doyle to Wolves for £6.5m

Kevin Doyle's a top player and decent individual. His move to Wolves allows him regular football in the prem. He needs to play at that level especially in a world cup year. So on one side the move is good for Kevin. Yet Wolves are going to struggle and get beat more times than not. It's an odds on b...

Re: The Kevin Doyle Thank You Thread

Kevin Dolye is definitely one of the best players I've ever seen play for Reading and I'm going back to the 70's here. Gutted he's leaving but he goes with my best wishes. He's a player with integrity and honesty. He knew how much Reading FC wanted to get back to the prem so he stayed to help try to...
