Re: Standy McStandface

The Michael Gilkes stand would have to be one of them behind the goal, as that's where most of his crosses ended up.

Re: BFTG Huddersfield (H)

For the second I think Ferdy raised his hand only to see Obita standing about 2 yards behind him playing Wells onside. For the first Obita played the ball inside to Ferdy but woefully behind him who lost out to the striker. AAH then seemed to come out then stopped. So all round cr*p defending me thi...

Re: Green park station/south Reading station

"Under the current timetable.....are not able to achieve the necessary acceleration in the short distance between Green Park and Reading Station" Of course the timetable can only change if you change the type of train on the line, what a load of b*ll*x. This man has no idea what he's talki...

Re: Ticket price protests

Call me a cynic, but what good will it do? It's not like we see empty stadiums in the prem is it? So whilst punters pays their money and turn up, the clubs will charge what they can for it. Relegation from the prem "usually" results in a price freeze at least or a drop (when the stadiums d...

Re: Hugely improved

I can't be a*sed to look, but changing the topic slightly, have we ever had a massive turnaround in fortune when we've changed managers? I can't think of any off the top of my head and it always seems to be other teams that it happens too or am I just a typical pessimistic Reading fan?

Re: Fran Kirby

I feel quite ill, I agree not only with an Oliver Holt article, but in the Daily Mail to boot. Aaargh! Seriously though, I was quite impressed by the standard of the second half (first half was pretty meh tbh) of the England v Mexico game, not having seen a Women's game before and having read the op...

Re: Summer Rebuild

Isn't it Samrit who's in hot water for offering equity in RFC (and other stuff) to someone that he didn't actually have to give (and they didn't check)!? As others have pointed out Samrit didn't actually come on board, although who knows what "arrangements" there are between the "Part...

Re: Where we are today!

Jeez, whilst not a fan of SJM as a person, I do appreciate what he's done for RFC so I don't get this antipathy towards bloke as chairman and main investor. Don't forget he's openly admitted he can't afford to play the big bucks game that the premiership requires for survival. Sure we didn't have th...

In the league, absolutely sweet FA! This has to be in the top 5 worst seasons I've endured in the past 26 years of watching.

Re: Expectations for next season

Expectation is low personally. I had hoped of more from Clarke this season but it's been really poor so far (not that it was great under Adkins).

I hope to see a fairly fundamental rebuilding of the team, but I don't think it will happen, so more of the same next season I fear.

Royal Lady Is anyone else going to state that he has the same bloody initials as Steve Coppell ffs.

Good lord, I hadn't even noticed! Splendid!

We probably had some old coats left over from SC1, so it all makes sense now.

Re: FFP

It's typical that something like this is introduced when for the first time ever we (supposedly!) have owners who have money to spend! It's like 1995 all over again! The 72/92 makes it all pointless really but if the UEFA ruling comes into play it may help. Still, the bigger the club the more advant...

I'm still stunned we've sacked a manager and hired a new one all within 24 hours! When did we ever do anything that quickly!!!

re: Steve Clarke Style of Play ? The emphasis will be upon Team Shape & Opposition Containment. He`ll make you hard to break down, his teams {If the Baggies are any yardstick} like to play their way into matches, so nothing to gung ho or exciting from the kick off. This does tend to hand the in...

Re: Steve Clarke

Jeez, if this is true, is it only me who is stunned by a) the club doing anything for a start b) then doing it all so quickly. It certainly wasn't SJM's way. It would imply they actually have a plan and know what they're doing, which is reassuring, isn't it? I was convinced no one was around who wou...

Re: Adkins: The right decision?

Timings right I guess. Whilst I feel Adkins was let down (a la Rodgers) he really hasn't got the best out of a technically good group of players. The squad is unbalanced and too expensive. It only seemed to be going one way and I think it was either now or leave it until the end of the season, so fa...
