Re: Roger Smee or John Madejski?

Without Smee there woul dhave been no Madejski. Neither wanted the job, and only one was big enough to carry the burden over an extended period. Smee did the club a huge service, but had neither the cash nor the desire to extend much beyond that whereas JM has carried us forward further than we cou...

Re: Roger Smee or John Madejski?

As others have said, they did different things for the club, for those of us that remember the time of Thames Valley Royals, it was touch and go. So Smee saved the club, but Mr M has taken us so far.

Re: Oh, What A Lovely Defecit!

You only need to look at the two Sheffield clubs to see what financial mismanagement does for a club. I would rather have Mr Mad at the helm anyday of the week. The Owls are only just on an even keel after Mandaric paid off a lot of debts and loads of creditors took a massive reduction in what they...

Re: "It's only a game"

Setting realistic expectations makes the pain easier. Being a bit older than most of the KWs on here also makes it easier. That said, I despise anyone who comes out with the "It's only a game" and "There's always next time" bullshit. Ah well I will have to live with that fact th...

Re: "It's only a game"

It IS only a game. Anyone who cried at the result unless they were a small child should have a bullet put through their heads. I have followed Reading for over 40 years and never thought it was more than just a game. Well lets all be exactly the same as you then! Just because you've been a fan for ...

Re: Back from the game - Scunthorpe

I thought the Feds had a fantatstic game and we were very fortunate not to have been beaten. As good as Feds was, the referee was as bad. The non sending off, and the booking of Siggy were the two most blatant failures amongst a whole catalogue of shite. I thought the difference between the teams wa...

Hartlepool away in the early 80's ( Ithink) a turgid 0-0 draw.

Re: Who still wants Madejski to sell?

Well,it depends. If he is selling to a million/billion-aire, at least sell it to someone who will love it and invest significantly every year instead of other owners of other clubs who use it as a 'trophy'. If Madejski is unable to find such a buyer, I say he should stay for the time being. I doubt...
