Re: Team for next season

Am a bit surprised that a few want to keep Blackman and would like to know why. I've never particularly understood the criticism of him - think he's been lumped in the same category as Akpan, i.e. a player who came in way above his level in the Premier League and, because of that, will never make i...

Re: BFG U21 final

Kuhl isn't just technically good, he has real grit and a captains temperament. Seems to be both footed, can pass it long and short and usually hits his target and tackles like a boss. All you need in midfield. Could score more goals though, I guess Re: His lack of goals, I've not seen nearly as muc...

Re: is 4-4-2 the way forward?

Different formations suit different teams and players. Liverpool use a 4-4-2 generally, either diamond or flat, and have played variants on 3-5-2. And we had Rodgers down as a 4-2-3-1-trick pony when he was here. Man City have played 4-4-2 a lot when Aguero was fit. I don't think there is a "wa...

Re: BFTG 'Uddersfield

Our midfield didn't exist in the first half (Hector's positioning was atrocious) they couldn't get into the game. Got to agree with this, IMO if Akpan had put in the shift Hector did today he would be ripped to pieces on here. Wasn't a bad performance, and will improve with game time, but Hector st...

Scarface However if Adkins keeps sending out virtually the same 11, how can we expect any different results.

Nobody was complaining when we named the same 11 and got (relatively) consistent results just two weeks ago

Re: RUMOUR - Danny Guthrie to Norwich

I would suggest the next time Guthrie plays keep an eye on what he does. I have done this for the last 3 home games and was surprised at how little he offered. I was a fan of his but I think he as they say he ' flatters to deceive'. He passes back a lot to the centre halves. He passes sideways. He ...

Re: Not celebrating

"Not celebrating" would be just walking nonchalantly walking back to the centre circle. Pisses me off even more when players actually draw attention to it by holding their hands up or patting the air in acknowledgement.

Re: CAFC Match Thread-Sponsored By A Certain Church Goal

Williams is great, just what we need in the middle of the park. alol@the last half an hour. Only thing I can say is that at least the defence stood up to the examination pretty well with them not really having a chance. This. You never felt they were actually going to score, the frustration was mor...

Re: Back from the game ..... charlton

1st half tidy, strong and by far the better team without ever really being great or getting in behind. Second half ok until akpan came on for williams and then diabolical. McCarthy 8 nothing too challenging but kept a clean sheet. Kelly 7 needed to get tighter late on Cummings 7 saved our ass a cou...

Ian Royal Changing virtually your entire strike force in one transfer window is a recipie for utter disaster.

Lets see how Norwich do.. The big bad Wolf and Hooper are bound to impress
