Re: #SellBeforeWeDai Action/Inaction Group

As expected, empassioned speeches from MPs, all but 2 who support the bill, one of course being the odious Rupert Lowe. Rupert Lowe was by far the worst speech. Regulation would harm the Premier League and government will destroy football. Was good to hear Basingstoke and Bracknell come up i...

Re: CONFIMRED - This might be it!!

Yeah, really don’t get the important footballing managerial appointments made. With the exception of Tevreden every one of them was an utterly stupid backward decision for the club. Tevreden was appointed by the Thais. He was the Director of Football(?) under Stam - signed Swift; Beerens; Meite; Mo...

Re: Handy websites you use to follow football

also, a great find some years ago was the Ipswich forum site as they store all English league tables after each game. so you pick a league, then select date range, and you can see how a table looked at any earlier point in the season you want https://www.twtd.co.uk/league-tables/competition:league-...

H-T 0-0 Reading 1 Liverpool 0 Booth 62 mins 2-0 Osho 70mins 3-0 Coke-Miles-Smith 74 mins F-T 3-0 The result of the other semi was Derby 1 West Ham 3. As far as i know the final is NOT 2 legged so presumably played at West Ham or Reading- we are above West Ham in the PL U 18 South table so we should...

Re: CONFIMRED - This might be it!!

Dai. Always Dai. I don’t hate Dai. I think he’s made some major mistakes, but I don’t hate him. Xi Jinping told billionaires to go buy European football clubs, as part of his plan to build Chinese football and hold a future world cup. Ignore his directives and there’s a nasty correlation with falli...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Exeter City (h)

WestYorksRoyal Surely any free agent would be well short of match fitness even if we got them through the door in time?

Now we know who it ism I would imagine Tom Carroll will be on the bench. He was at Milton Keynes until last month and was getting some minutes for them.

Re: Question for the day.

Another question: what players who a elite now but wouldn't be in the 90s and players who'd be an elite player in the 90s but isn't now? Ooh good question. TAA I assume as olden day full backs were pure defenders. Imagine your Dylan Kerr's and Andy Bernal's of this world just wandering into midfiel...

Re: Confimred - Tom Carroll

I guess with Craig out for the season, this makes sense. That's especially the case if Elliott isn't going to be back soon.

My concern is he wasn't playing regularly in League Two for Milton Keynes before having his contract terminated a month ago.

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

Just for info, I've just seen this which puts us in 4th from bottom. No idea what the provenance is but at least there's something that can be verified. Salary sport is one of the websites I checked it has a disclaimer that makes it clear its guesswork. The only way we know what salaries are actual...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (a)

Good result yesterday, especially coming from behind and not having Craig, Campbell and Ehibhatiomhan. Fantastic to see Yiadom return, especially as it seems Craig is going to be out for the rest of the season. Rushesha had a fairly solid game though. This was another match showing the importance of...

Re: Away followings

We are the best southern supported team in what is mainly a northern league. All the big away ends, aside Charlton, are in the north too. Imagine what our average would be if sides like Crawley, Leyton Orient or Bristol Rovers had grounds being enough to allow us to take 2/3k them - like at Wigan, ...

Re: Question for the day.

The tactics were very different. I wonder how good the teams from twenty-odd years ago would adapt to the current tactics.

That said, I think football was more entertaining back then because of sides being less refined and there being more scope for flair players.

Peterborough came from 2-0 down, including with a 91st minute equaliser, to take Wrexham to penalties in the EFL Trophy last night - before winning on penalties. Saves us from a Birmingham-Wrexham final.

takeover update - Hopeful of concluding deal by April - EFL aware of Platek's 'conflict of interest' as co-head of firm that has lent money to EFL clubs - This is not expected to impact Platek's potential purchase of Reading https://x.com/AndyPreston96/status/1895020197662142755?t=qoSm9SzUS3qK9ZTO7...

Re: CONFIMRED - This might be it!!

Aren’t we actually doing the developing / selling now more than we have ever done in the past ? Out of necessity, yes. We have no other option to survive. I've thought for a while the club is proving remarkably robust. None of our owners or executives since 2012 have understood our culture or the &...
