Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2024/25

Next up for the U 21’s is a rare Wednesday night match. It’s a home PL Cup match against Brighton at Aldershot’s EBB stadium KO7pm- pay on the gate. No real chance of qualifying out of the group after 3 defeats in the 3 matches played so far. Might we see Vickers play? He's in their starting XI. Wi...

Mid Sussex Royal From the STAR meeting:

Abrefa has a knee ligament injury and is back Dec/Jan, taking it slowly but no surgery was needed.

Yiadom - still on track for Dec/Jan return

Both being Dec/Jan suggests to me, it would be late December they'd be back at the earliest.

Re: Bindon to be sold

Is his deal definitely up this summer? I know it was announced as a 2 year deal but we often keep quiet about the club having a clause to extend it - Azeez for example had such a clause. So if Bindon has similar and I would be moderately surprised if he doesn't then, 9m feels more realistic. I don'...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Newport County (h)

Posh, Wycombe Charlton or Walsall away, we`ll know on Friday evening, nobody said it would be easy. Failing to avoid defeat at Cheltenham really cost the club a decent shot at progression in this competition. Assuming we'd directly have swapped with Cheltenham, we would've played one of Birmingham,...

Re: World Cup 2026

It's a juggling act. Only Bolivia (83) and Venezuela (57) are ranked outside the top 50 by FIFA, so it is a 'high quality' confederation. And the flip side of fewer places, given that broadly Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay will always get there, is that CONMEBOL qualification just becomes the other ...

Re: Bindon to be sold

spoke to my contact. The club interested is Arsenal. And the 9 mill is correct, but its not 9 mill upfront. If true, hopefully gives leverage for the club to negotiate some transfer activity in January, obviously wouldn't want the club to spend the lot but being able to strengthen the squad with ev...

spoke to my contact. The club interested is Arsenal. And the 9 mill is correct, but its not 9 mill upfront. Would be surprised if it was all up front, tbh. I’d hope a sell on clause is included in that. If it is Arsenal, I’d expect we would be able to get him back on loan until the end of the seaso...

Re: Nations League & Friendlies

Scotland finally got a win last night - and still in play for a Nations League quarter-final spot (would have to beat Poland away and Croatia lose at home to Portugal, with a minor small goal difference/goals scored swing). Scotland have to beat Poland anyway to avoid automatic relegation to League ...

Re: FA Cup 1st round draw Monday 14th October

Will be interesting to see how many we sell in the home areas. I saw some whinging about ticket prices. So far we've sold around 1,500 so far by the looks of it - that's significantly up on what we had sold for the Fleetwood game at this point. It will be a game where we sell a lot of home tickets ...

Jahmari Clarke signs a short term deal at Basingstoke Town https://btfc.co.uk/updates/jahmari-clarke-signs/ A bit disappointing to see him go down that far, but it's possible the injuries he had really stunned his development and knocked him down a few levels. It perhaps shows the fine line between...

Re: Bindon to be sold

I’d take £9m for him tbh, although I’d be very disappointed to see him go. He’s out of contract in the summer. Hopefully that would allow us to bring in a couple of players (even on frees or loan). It would also cover the club’s operating costs. Jeriel Dorsett played centre-back in the EFL Trophy, s...

RG30 Email sent to ticket holders.

Ah, well that'll be why I didn't see anything! No surprise really, only surprise that he agreed to it in the first place.

I was surprised to see he was doing it, but I think the lawyer has provided the correct advice.

Re: On this day #5847

Hutchinson certainly wasn't right in everything he said, and it was a terrible public airing or dirty laundry, but it really did seem to be the catalyst that forced change. It was around that time that Selles finally woke up to the shape he was employing being a complete failure, and implementing t...
