Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

People are stupid. I know an accountant who bought a top of the range TV on her debit card from a website nobody has ever heard of, it didn't turn up and the website disappeared  Also, when paying with paypal, never use friends and familly to pay even if the seller insists because that means ...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

I guess it depends what the actual contract said. On this weeks That Peter Crouch podcast, they were covering contracts and Steve Sidwell has some of his there including a Reading one, They told the story of someone whose contract has a line about letting them talk to clubs who made a bit of £1m*, ...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

That implies people have credit cards. Around 64% of adults have at least one credit card in the UK - leaving 36% without one. The age breakdown is such that younger people are significantly less likely to have one than a middle-aged adult as well. Buying anything worth more than £100 on debit card...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

I was mildly intrigued by the wording on the email, particularly "one thing that you can rely on is the Royals will be lining up in August ready for another action packed campaign" All the activity definitely gives me a feeling that they're confident stability is around the corner, maybe ...

Re: Weekend Football

On "new Wembley" I find it a bit odd that there are stats for a ground/pitch in the same area with the same status as it has always had. Will Spurs produce stats for their revamped ground or Liverpool after the new stand opened? Tottenham categorise their ground as a new stadium, despite ...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

If there is bad news coming, I would expect it to be announced early next week - after the deadline for season ticket renewals. I certainly wouldn't let anything Howe says dissuade me from that view The deadline for renewals is on the 14th June [ link ]. That's unless something's changed without be...

Re: Weekend Football

Tangenital stat - according to SSN only four current league clubs are yet to play at the new Wembley. I was surprised that two of them were 'big' clubs, being Blackburn and Ipswich. The others are Accrington Stanley, and Colchester United. Crawley Town broke their 'Wembley duck' this season, winnin...

Re: Weekend Football

Meant to post this last week - went to Fulham's home game with City, and it appears that it is now a thing, at Craven Cottage at least, to remove lids from drinks bottles. So my Coke Zero was sans bottle top. What's this about? Yeah like Brobers said. Full bottle with lid becomes a missile, lid off...

Re: Green park station/south Reading station

I come into Reading from Basingstoke a couple of times a week & the station has got steadily busier as the year has gone on It will probably only keep getting busier as Green Park Village continues to fill up (and inevitably expand) and more people are aware of its existence. 160,000 passengers...

Had enough of UEFA repeatedly turning down their application to become members, so today they have applied to become members of CONCACAF instead. UEFA qualifying criteria is that the UN need to recognise you as fully independent nation, so greenland fails there. Good luck to 'em I say! How are Wale...

Just as an aside, the 2022-23 accounts still haven't appeared on Companies House. The deadline is at the end of next month. Don't know what penalties there could be for overdue accounts.

Rotherham have already made five signings, all free transfers: Jonson Clarke-Harris (from Peterborough); Reece James (Sheff Wed); Shaun McWilliams (Northampton); Joe Rafferty (Portsmouth); Sean Raggett (Portsmouth). They'll be challenging towards the top this season. Some astute signings there by S...
