Re: RFC - Thank You To The Season Ticket Holders

To be fair he has a point here. We were urged to renew amidst a wave of positivity and talk of 7 signings, a record goal tally and swashbuckling football. Here we are, with under 4 hours of the window to go, having made 3 signings (4 including Pearce but that doesn't really count) and having sold a ...

Re: BFTG - Yeovil Town

Highlight of the day was undoubtedly the chap in the 4x4 with the trailer stopping to lets fans pile into said 4x4/onto said trailer and proceeding to drop them in the town centre! That sodding road from the station to the town was ridiculous. London based Yeovil fans on the train were explaining ho...

Re: Blackpool (A)

I'm actually not keen on going to Blackpool, can't drink, been told it's a crap away end, but the fact it's a new ground for me is dragging me in. True, although it's a damnsite better than it was a few years ago before they put the roof on. I was in the back row, stood up and nearly ended up in so...

Re: Do we really need another striker?

With the system we play we are going to do well to find someone who can score 20 plus goals playing up front on their own. I think it's more important that we find someone who can fit Adkins' system and that is someone who does have a physical presence and can hold the ball up and bring other's int...

Jackson Corner The Hornets are buzzing at the moment. 1-3

They really stung Bournemouth at the weekend. A couple more of those and they'll be flying.

Re: Yeovil Away

There is one decent train to Yeovil Pen Mill which only takes only 1hr 50mins, the rest are all at least half an hour longer, and most go to Yeovil Junction in the middle of nowhere: dep 09:04 Reading [RDG] to Westbury (Wilts) [WSB] arr 09:56 dep 10:02 Westbury (Wilts) [WSB] to Yeovil Pen Mill [YVP...

Readingfanman Some info for the day:

No alcohol is to be served at the ground if it is a capacity away crowd, which looks likely.
The Bell in Preston Road is shut indefinitely after a fire in January.

Well that's a bit cr*p!

Only 530 sold :| You look surprised, urz13. We'll take 750 tops. Normal away service north of the border is resumed for this level. yeah, pretty standard fayre for a holiday season trip oop north. Also I suspect that, if having to choose between this and Blackpool, majority would have chosen the la...

Re: McCarthy in the England Squad!

Wycombe Royal The only reason McCarthy was in ahead of Ruddy last time was because Ruddy was injured.

This. If being part of a Premier League club was the only reason for Ruddy's selection then why was McCarthy, a newly-relegated goalkeeper, selected vs. Ireland/Brazil?

Anyone else finding it impossible to find the draw details? The draw was started 20 minutes ago by my watch, and yet the only place I seem to be able to find the info is on here! Nothing on BBC/Sky Sports/COC wesbites, nothing on the OS. And they complain about a lack of interest from fans! The dra...

Re: The Reading "project"

It worked out for the best as I wouldn't want Poyet managing us. It's all about him, he loves being in the media spotlight and things he is bigger than the club. His ego needs deflating. Amen to that. On that famed March evening when Brian's departure was announced my first thought was "Adkins...

I may be wrong but I don't think Nige would drop Morrison after making him captain last week.

Re: Team for Bolton

Yeah I'd pretty much go with the OP. Assuming he sticks with a similar style for what should be one of our toughest away games, the only change I'd make from last week is to bring Williams in for HRK. The more I think about it I'm starting to get used to playing ALF on his own. Would still rather no...
