Re: Do you think Long will stay?

Haven't West Ham Utd just placed an 8m bid for Long? It will be disappointing if he leaves for another championship club like Mills.

Re: Q: Is having only two centre backs enough?

Lets just wait and see what happens between now, August 31st, January 31st and ultimately the end of season May 2012 then the answer will be much clearer for those of you like me who don't have a crystal ball. :o

Re: Ambition in question

Ambition is relative, the club, a fan or the author of the question can each have different interpretations of what they expect.

The only way anyone can really judge the clubs ambition before a ball is even kicked will be based on our league position come May 2012.

Re: Pre Season Friendly thread

Our play-off run looks like it cost us a decent last pre-season game at the Madstad this year due to time constraints, so Swindon away looks the stand out fixture - not quite the Real Madrid tie our new found friends at Leicester have somehow managed to organize...Roll on Millwall...

Re: Oh, What A Lovely Defecit!

Austerity measures over the last couple of seasons make sense in the current climate, yes there's also surplus capital come about from play-offs, cup runs, players retiring or leaving and unexpected inflation busting sell on fees. The bit that doesn't stack up is should Mill's have stayed, weren't ...

Re: Mills to Leicester 5 Million

Yes I saw Sven's comment following the signing, he probably convinced the Leicester board to stump up the cash based on his hindsight spin - The most important thing is he's talked them into giving us 5m He probably has fond memories of his time spent in Berkshire's former beauty spots :D Yes Sven'...

Re: Summer transfer policy

buying cheap hasn't let us down has it? the club were prepared for this and unlike with Sigurdsson we have plenty of time to bring in a replacement. where is all the money going does concern me though. im not convinced about this on going deficit we have to keep finding money for since relegation. ...

Re: Good Luck Matt Mills

Lets be realistic here, what do we have Matt Mills to thank for????? Some good games, some dreadful games, ill discipline, and countless long balls. Leicester have been completely ripped off, and im not sorry to see him go at all. Lets thank Mills for 5m, I have a hunch the next time he moves to an...

Re: Mills to Leicester 5 Million

Just as I thought this debt ridden game driven by "greed and sky" couldn't get any crazier a fellow Championship Club clamber out of the woodwork to offer a £5m fee for an average to decent (on his day at best) tier 2 player with just 1 year left on his contract!! Great Business/PR/etc Ha...

Ian Royal Pleased with this. Good option as a back up to Kebe & McAnuff who will hopefully challenge them both a bit more this season.

Agree, provided both the aforementioned stay next season.

Re: RUMOUR: Mills to Wolves

Without any of us being a fly on ceiling at board room level the opinions any of us give on this matter is only opinion formed on speculation - With that in mind, I think Matt Mill's has a view that a possible comination of our wage/terms/conditions package we have been rumoured to offer him initia...

Re: RUMOUR: Mills to Wolves

RFC need to sit down with Mills and his agent to draw a line in the sand one way or another as this saga could go on and both parties will find themselves in a position of disadvantage, Mills losing a season of higher wages/top flight experiance, plus if he stays we lose £3m on a Bosman next summer...

Re: Value on Long's Head?

I wouldn't be suprised if clubs interested in purchasing Shane Long don't just wait until the January transfer window, 1 to get him significantly cheaper and 2, to see if he can maintain the 2nd half of last seasons form. The prices being paid and banded about for players if his kind at present seem...

Re: RUMOUR: Mills to Wolves

If Matt Mill's as some of the aritcles suggest is prepared to lodge a transfer request, then I for one would be glad to see the back of him as we need players committed to our clubs fortunes. In terms of the rumoured upto £20k per week he has been offered to stay with us, again if he turns it down I...

Re: Wolves and Matt Mills

Thanks for the kind welcome, your comments noted and it won't be long before I'm upto speed with board & thread navigation! In terms of the Wolve's Chairman, I agree with your thoughts, to many clubs think they can have it on their own terms when they spot a player who's doing relatively well el...
