Re: Who is the mystery striker?

Not keen on Walcott, isn't an out and out striker and is in a position we have a lot of players and would warrant a large wage. Would much prefer to give Joao a contract extension, seen as we will lose him for free at the end of this season. Its about time the club did some forward planning with con...

Re: Squad Watch 2022/23

Long would be a great signing, an upgrade on Puscas and could mean we could hopefully get money for Puscas that could maybe mean in Jan/Summer we have finally balanced the books and can be free of the league having to approve every deal we make. He has a fantastic attitude and would no doubt dig dee...

Re: Pre-season games 2022/2023

I would take Hutchinson for sure, currently we have literally one CM/DM in Fornah, yes you can say Ejaria can play there but you wouldn't want him in a midfield two without protection behind him and Tetek is unproven, and has probably played more games for the First team at RB than CM. We need bodie...

Re: Who realistically replaces Paunovic…?

We can only afford to pay Andy Carroll a grand a week, yet somehow we would have enough to sack a manager, pay off his contract and then hire someone else? No chance. We are stuck with Paunovic whether we like it or not till we can get out of this financial mess.

Re: January window

I don't want to lose any of them, but from a purely logistical point of view with regards to playing style and formation, you can't have Swift, Ejaria and Olise in the same team. You need a Meite (or dare I even say an Aluko!?) on the right flank to give us the width and runs off the ball for the cr...

Re: Upset the Apple cart.

Would love to know if someone has the statistics, as to how many times we fielded the same team in our promotion seasons/well performing seasons (3rd under Jaap for example). In those seasons it always felt like we had the same team week in week out, yet in our recent poor seasons it felt like it wa...

Re: BFTT - QPR (A)

Good point, we worked very hard and showed that grit we haven't seen in a long time. Shame about Miazga, more that he has shown he can be riled up than the fact he will probably get a ban now. As others are saying, it probably will be, however we know how inconsistent and rubbish the FA can be, so f...

Re: Ex Players

Flare ups for me and I believe most people that have it tend to last 1-3 months and then will calm down for a long time, for example my last one was 2 years ago. I can't speak for Martin as we have completely different bodies, but he could quite easily have been completely fine at Hull and at Derby ...

Re: Ex Players

Completely agree, I have exactly the same issue as Martin and it comes and goes in flare-ups. He may also not have known he had it until he got to Reading, it requires a camera inside you to diagnose which wouldn't be covered in a medical. Also, it may have had it for a while before Reading and then...

Re: What is our best team now?

On this subject, does anyone know how many times in his tenure Stam has named an unchanged side? It doesn't take a genius to know that most of the successful teams will keep a relatively unchanged side and stick with it. Stam seems to chop and change unnecessarily.

Re: BFTG - Nottingham Forest

When you play a striker and a balanced midfield of a DM, a box to box/runner (Edwards) and a creative midfielder it seems to work. Funny that.

Re: BFTG - Arsenal (a)

Thought Joey was very poor, looked a pace behind everyone else and kept on losing men. Would have much preferred Quinn instead who would have hassled the arsenal players in possession and put pressure on them. Also thought Blackett was poor, the first 20 mins Arsenal had two clear chances from him b...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Aston Villa (h) sponsored by a Terry Bell own goal

I won't overreact like many seem to have done and in fact I thought our performance was pretty decent considering we were playing Villa who had a new manager and a lot to prove. However, you cannot look pass the fact that Stam lost us the game by refusing to make any subs up till the point the game ...
