Re: Jason Robert's return

Yeah 5-3-2 or 3-5-2. It's a bananas idea, but on paper it gets arguably our best players out there, and exploits the width and channels that we like to use. There's probably a reason that no top teams have gone for it since Liverpool introduced it a decade or so ago and Glenn Hoddle's England used i...

Re: Jason Robert's return

But then how do we break up the midfield 5, who goes out of Jem/Ledge/Guthrie to accommodate for Roberts? Has to be one of Jem or Ledge (perhaps depending on whether we're home or away) - BUT, can you imagine what would have happened on Sunday if we'd have only had Guthrie in there? What about some...

Re: Jem Karacan - New Contract

Nice try though.

Re: Back from the Game / Pub

Finally plucked up the courage to watch it back on Sky. It doesn't get any prettier. The number of times we gave up possession in important areas was shocking. I'd love to be proved wrong, but i fear that Gunter may turn out to be a total dud at this level. Leigertwood too was chasing shadows and do...

Re: Jobi- "footballers paid too much"

Why do clubs go through all the pain and cost of increasing the capacity of their stadia if they don't need the extra ticket revenue? You don't think that the additional gate receipts at Manchester Utd (45 -> 90 million per season following expansion in 1994), and Arsenal (estimated at 1 million mor...
