Re: Your top ten Reading players

This is favourite 10 rather than the best 10 (this is with heart rather than head): 1) Michael 'GO ON' Gilkes 2) Adrian '1-11' Williams 3) Nicky '1st time' Shorey 4) Uwe '#14' Hartenberger 5) Andy 'Goal Machine' Hughes 6) Keith 'L' McPherson ("Say what again mf, I dare you") 7) Martin 'Sto...

Alfie, but only because he had 1 good month. That's still 1 good month more than the rest of the squad.

Re: RUMOUR - Thomas Ince

I don't want this to happen now. I want little old Reading to do it with League 1 players against all the odds & then a movie to be made about it. :D Bruce willis to play McDermott. Movie to be called No Money Balls. I prefer "The Russian Who Loved Me" personally. How about 'From Russ...

Sweeeeeeeeeeeet! My m8 is a Saints fan and gave it the full gun on banter ahead of this w/e trying to persuade (himself) they still had a chance. Can't wait to see BMc hold aloft the trophy. Well earned.

Re: Next six games?

West Ham (A) W 2-1 Leeds (H) W 1-0 Brighton (A) D 1-1 Saints (A) L 1-2 Forest (H) W 3-0 Palace (H) W 2-0 Brum (A) D 1-1 14 points for the 7 games which would give us 87 for the season... This is exactly what I was about to post! I could quibble over the scores but WWDLWWD is the pattern that will s...

Re: Player of the Season Poll

1. Jem Karacan
2. Kaspars Gorkss
3. Adam Federici

(4. Alex Pearce)

All 4 have been awesome this year so tbh any would be a worthy winner.

Re: Hayden Mullins

Just as an aside, has anyone ever met a group of lads on a night out that haven't come across as complete c*nts? When at uni 'up north' I met Dion Dublin (& cronies) on a night out. He was really sound. He was a really good laugh and he had some serious muscle with him so I guess he appreciated...

Re: Hayden Mullins

Said it before and I'll say it again, as soon as the damn stupid transfer windows are scrapped altogether the better for everyone. I'm not against transfer windows per se. On balance I'd prefer to revert back to the old system where teams could buy players up to the end of March each year (loan or ...

The Gylfi thread.

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-gossip-Swansea-must-pay-6m-to-buy-Gylfi-Sigurdsson-after-loan-spell-Aston-Villa-interested-too-article875729.html I'd love it if we re-signed Gylfi because he is absolute class. £6m is more than SJM era Royals would spend but if we're promoted to the Pre...

Re: FourFourTwo - Best and Worst Foreigner

Shaka the best for me. Has to be Fae just for the woefull amount of dosh we wasted. Shaka would get my vote as the best foreigner too. It felt like the goal we defended was bricked up from 1993 to 1995. As for the worst; Elroy Kromheer/Peter Van Der Kwaak/Mass Sarr. I can't separate them. All very,...

Re: Jem or Ledge?

Jem has improved a lot from playing alongside Ledge. His organisational & leadership skills have come on in leaps & bounds as evidenced by the way he ran the midfield in Ledge's absence. TBH I like them together as they provide a solid screen in front of the defence and this fits BMcDs count...

Re: Great Starts at Reading

I know it's slightly off topic but the debut that had me most excited at the time was Neville Roach scoring against Oldham in April 97. I've always been a big fan of 'home grown' players and I left EP that day giddy with dreams of having seen a future international striker. Unfortunately he was tota...

Re: Your first ever away win

The first away game I went to was at Craven Cottage in March 91 and we drew 1-1 (with Fulham obv). I've been to 41 away games in the 20 odd years since then and I've yet to see us win! Most recent game was 0-0 vs Palace in October and as a word of warning, I'm considering a trip to the Amex or St. M...

Re: Kit - Hoops All The Way Round?

I voted yes, but wouldn't mind a sky blue kit for a year or two though. I def want hoops all the way round rather than horizontal stripes on the front of the kit. Gd suggestion from HM tho about the sky blue kit. I think my ideal would be: Home - blue & white hooped shirt, white shorts, white s...

Re: Portsmouth fc

I'm a bit extreme on this - I would suggest they would be bitter as - a team that had no money to pay its wagebill, didnt pay HMRC and spunked on a side and manager to keep them in the Premierleague and win the FA Cup, whereas they're own side got relegated that season for not stealing the public m...
