Re: The phoenix club thread

Not exactly an apples for apples comparison, but when AFC Wimbledon started up, they had the initial meeting (am sure stuff took place behind the scenes) on 30 May 2002, had their first trials on 13 June 2002, and their first friendly on 10 July 2002. They started their league season in August 2002...

Re: CONFIMRED - The final countdown

It really really doesn't matter in the short/medium term who purchases the club at this stage; ANYONE is better than Dai, who is literally destroying our football club.

Either Platek or Couhig will be an massive upgrade.

Re: CONFIMRED - The final countdown

IF RFC has put forward the offer of putting £6M into Escrow, and if that's the only thing holding up the sale to Platek, then where is the issue for Mr Couhig? After his media round following last Friday, he said he was not a blocker to the sale of RFC; if thats the case, then what stops him from ag...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Peterborough United (h)

If we get anything out of this given the off-field kick in the gonads from last week, then it will prove that Noel is destined for a career in management regardless as to whatever happens at the end of the season.

Haven't felt quite so flat for a game for ages.

RoyalBlue
Royals and Racers Now guaranteed we finish in 8th, and that point today was the 1st points gained from any team other than the bottom 2.

Great result. Well deserved. Just shows what adding a little bit of quality can do for the whole team. If only we'd managed to get the sisters earlier in the season!

Re: CONFIMRED - The final countdown

Dai has to know that he either sells now, or is sat on something that will be utterly valueless at the end of the season.

Worst case scenario as I see it is that we drop down to National League South.

Re: CONFIMRED - This might be it!!

Firstly, thanks to el diablo - quality reportage!

Secondly, we are definitely entering the end game now, for better or for worse, or even for the very worst........by the end of the season we will either have new owners, or no club.

Re: Reading FC Womens World

Unless GCSE Maths has failed me, we're safe now, and will probably finish 8th (unless we win our last four and have results go our way to finish 7th). Between Selsey and Badshot Lea for bottom place - won't say relegation spot, as there always seems to be clubs dropping out at various levels, and o...

As someone who hangs on the Rougeometer as a drowning man hangs onto a piece of flotsam, how often are we to expect updates??

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wrexham (h)

With regard to the game (having watched it on the Sky Sports channel) I thought we fully deserved the 3 points and when we did go down to 10 men the character and determination the players showed was fantastic. Loved the second goal; a great team goal, and a just reward for some really good football...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wrexham (h)

Seen the red card now, as blatant as described, absolutely no complaints. Disagree. We decided to switch who tactics and therefore who would take the kick. You see it happen in pretty much every game of football involving every team and in most cases it is not being done to waste time. We had no ne...

I 100% believe in The Rougeometer - who doesn't??

After the last few Years, I will take an 80% chance of finishing top half, and a nearly 30% chance of finishing in the Play Offs!!

Re: Reading FC Womens World

I was surprised that they didn’t figure yesterday as their last match away( i think) was last Monday- Jamaica failed to qualify for the finals on GD. They were posting photos from Venice over the weekend, so obviously took a non-direct route back. Of course, they're amateurs and travel plans were p...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game - 24/25 page 225 onwards

Nice to see some opposing fans giving us credit, and picking out some of our better prospects in the process. On Bindon, I actually think that if he joins up with Forest fairly early in the summer, he may well end up in their squad next season. He's just so unfazed by everything and I think he coul...

Re: CONFIMRED - This might be it!!

It's a tricky one; yes, the Academy is expensive to run, but - it could be argued - it has literally saved Reading FC over these past 2 or 3 Years of utter turmoil and desperation. Additionally, if we are to be sustainable in the longer run, I would suggest that having an effective Academy attractin...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game - 24/25 page 225 onwards

Some nice comments from Wigan fans, though they put their defeat squarly on their managers substitutions...... "Reading have had a transfer embargo for 2 or 3 years along with years of ownership and EFL turmoil. All of their players were frees, loans or from the academy - their squad has less e...
