Seven out of ten, solid. What is Felix Bowness'eseses connection to Tilehurst please? He lived in Alderley Close, Woodley for at least 40 years. "Round 4 – Tilehurst (and nearby)". Long story short, I ran out of Tilehurst people and picked a few generic Reading people. It was for a pub in...

Winston Biscuit Is the pitch invasion still on?

100%. Need to show the new owners we're not to be messed with. Hopefully SBWD have also sent them our demands.

I'm on the pitch the moment I see you on the pitch first.

Hampshire.

Theo Walcott was born in the Newbury area somewhere and he’s only just retired.

Walcott was born in London. He went to school in Compton though, which certainly counts as Berkshire.

Re: Players who started off terrible but became good

Shaka Debuted away at West Brom - we lost 3-0 (ish) and he was poor, and he was unable to cope with the brand new "don't pick it up don't pick it up ah FFS" back-pass rule. Played the next couple of matches but looked out of his depth and Steve Francis came back in for the remainder of the...

Re: Players who started off terrible then got worse

I am whacking my brains out thinking if Michael Meaker should be on any of these threads. I remember feeling underwhelmed by him but recall going to Man City around May 97 and he scored an early goal. I think we took a 2-0 lead but lost. I swear when I hit 60 my memory took a nosedive. I’d say he f...

Re: Players who started off terrible but became good

Great shout on Adrian Williams - IIRC he started up front, then was a utility player before setting at CB. Regarding Murty, we signed him (for £750k) as an attacking right midfielder / winger, that's where he was playing at York City (for example when York won 3-0 at Old Trafford in a League Cup gam...

Re: Players who started off terrible then got worse

I see that Steve Moran's wiki page neglects to mention trips to Sweden {ahem}

I met him in the kebab van queue in Henley after chucking out time at Stallones one long ago Friday night / early Saturday morning - he was utterly cunted. And he had a match for Exeter that afternoon. I was very envious.

If you search for "Charlton Athletic online fans", you have to drop quite a long way down the list to get a Charlton Athletic online fan forum. All of the top hits are links to Madelene Wright (former Charlton Athletic Ladies player and now glamour model) and her OnlyFans account. I'll let...

Re: That American Referee Woman on ITV

I'm going to +1 for the high regard for her, she's been excellent. And as for the England penalty, it obviously wasn't one, and she got that right too.

In summary, a bit of an out-of-character disaster of a thread for St P really.
