Re: Who still wants Madejski to sell?

What is very interesting is that Burnley are being held up as the way to run a club financially in the Prem, despite them spending around £10m in the summer on new players. No. They gave STHs a free ST for the Prem. The correct way to run a club is to double ST prices and then not buy the players y...

Re: Who still wants Madejski to sell?

he was quite in favour of staying on in some capacity. I like that idea too

If you gave him £100 million would you want him hanging around? Nor me.

Abramovich got shot of Bates and I suspect SJM will be pushed out asap post sale.

Re: Who still wants Madejski to sell?

Happily his Madj will only sign over to someone he thinks has the best interests of the club and community at heart and won't mortgage our future then bugger off bored after a few years having not bought instant success. And I suspect you also believed that PArdew would stay? SJM will sell when the...

LI are RFC's tenants, not the other way round

And without the rent from our tenants we would be even more strapped than at present...

In fact we would probably have to sell again. So the loss of a few divots is well worth it.

Re: The Pitch

London Irish will play 8 fixtures during the grass non-growing season (Mid November to end of March) and have so far played seven of them. That's 640 minutes, or over ten and a half hours of 30, 15 stone men kicking and rolling around on the pitch. None of this damage can be repaired without bringi...

Re: The Pitch

It's the worst I have seen it at this stage of the season since we have been at the Mad Stad. A combination of egg chasers and terrible weather. It needs re laying in the summer but that can cost up to £250,000 Can you see the club doing that? If we stopped playing football too the grass would be p...

Re: Back from the game WBA

Given that Liverpool were looking at who they would want after Burnley... and WBA manager doesn't care who they meet in the next round [presumably round 3 in 2011?]... any preferences for who we beat in the final?

ALOL @ Suggesting lodging a complaint for a ground not having a roof on the away end!! How long have you been watching football Clockwatcher?? Having a guy who is all friendly with the players ect ect, is no good when your in the position were in. You need someone who puts rockets up players arses. Not a guy who is a 'nice bloke'. Get Megson in. LOL - you really are a little pcunt aren't you! Megson - poor excuse for a manager, we'...

Re: Madejski Out??

Funds were made available while we were in the Prem and Coppell chose not to spend. If his manager told him he didn't need the money what was JM supposed to do?

So if it was not spent it ought to still be available...?

Re: Clearing snow at the training ground

STAR bowing down to the club's every whim yet again :| Yes, I can see why you're quite so outraged here. It's utterly unreasonable that when the football clubs asks STAR to pass a message onto supporters they do exactly that. It was an OK request. However, bearing in mind that the folk who were ava...

Hasn't it all melted now so what is the point of this thread - train indoors you saps until it melts! Anyway the Icelanders should be used to snow? The snow we have had over the last two months is about the same if not more than Iceland would have over the same time period. It's Greenland that gets...

Re: Back from the game (LIVERPOOL)

For my money money it was a good run - but certainly NOT world class. No tackles came in - and he had a pretty free run through. World class is the Best / Gray / Robertson type run where scything tackles were ridden and men were beaten at will. Bloody hell could you enjoy our team beating the most ...

Re: Clearing snow at the training ground

To be fair, this is the sort of thing that youth team players used to do in years gone by. What's changed...? Not so lomg ago first team and reserves would also have been asked to help. Would serve as a good warm up before training... No mention of a free ticket a la Pompey I see. Funny how such a ...
