Re: You'll Never Walk Alone will be played before K.O today.

Only after Hillsborough did it take on a new meaning, and become a Liverpool anthem, as other clubs backed off and let them take it as their own. Whilst other clubs around the world have used and adopted the song, this statement is incorrect. Play it to any football fan around the world and ask the...

Re: You'll Never Walk Alone will be played before K.O today.

Worth realising that YNWA was not originally a "Liverpool" anthem - it was an anthem played around the country at football grounds. Only after Hillsborough did it take on a new meaning, and become a Liverpool anthem, as other clubs backed off and let them take it as their own. If you want ...

Re: Scapegoat of the week Award thread

Seriously....you need to consider a different sport - this is clearly too complex for you. Games against teams in top half of the table - worth 3 points. Games against teams in and around relegation - worth 3 points, plus the denial of 3 points to your rivals - making them effectively worth double b...

Re: Scapegoat of the week Award thread

All of those points will have been seen as bonus points.

Seriously, if you're that stupid that someone has to explain this to you, then you really ought to be considering watching a simpler sport....

Re: Scapegoat of the week Award thread

You know full well, that we are not competing against Spurs et-al - they are therefore NOT the competition. Our first 3 games have been against the European Champions, a team who expect to compete for top 4, and Stoke who are looking odds on for top half this season - it's hardly surprising that Har...

Re: Scapegoat of the week Award thread

I'd never really noticed how many total spacktards support this club/post their childish views on HNA before. This is Ian Harte - he has never had pace. His strength is normally reading the game, and not having to catch up like others do - he came up against the fastest pair of wingers in the PREMIE...

Re: Best Reading game?

Peterborough 1 - 2 Reading. All I remember is that it was a terrible game, until a last gasp substitution. Darius Henderson, produced two identical headers, to win the game 1-2 in the last minute - I saw the first one, and had just stopped hyperventilating in time to see the second goal go in..... I...

Re: Classic RFC moments, 21st century

Not been done for a couple of years, and must be a few added now. Any bits from any games, or the club, comedy, anything that you loved really and sticks in memory, organised by STAR I think? http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q165/rfc_legend/brentford2002.jpg Incorrect. This was one of the last ac...

Lawrenson is STILL bitter that Robin Friday kicked him in the face and took a dump in his kit bag.....either that or he actually has no clue about football at all....

Re: Chelsea (A) Match Thread *sponsored by Coles Choc ices*

How was the 4th goal allowed to stand?? 1 Reading player between the goal and the ball, which was definitely played forwards. That's Offside too...there must be two players.

Most awful refereeing team in history!?!

Not starting a "back from the game" thread incase STAR don't like it, Brian gets "very upset", or the result is deemed to only be communicable to those who have paid to be in attendance.....

Re: Should we start our own Supporters Group to Replace STAR

With you there RL. Various departments of RFC dislike being challenged intensely. It is unfortunately, part of a wider problem in Football, which seems to be that football clubs do not regard supporters as customers - hence the lack of customer service, etc. In my experience the departments most adv...

Re: Reading game you would like to watch again

I'd take Southampton away from last season, minus half of the Magners cider factory output, and the lack of ability to remember anything at all.... There are of course many others. Peterborough away - 1-0 down until the last minute (I think)- enter Darius Henderson - 2 goals in 2 minutes....wh...

Re: Speculation - Adam Federici

Federici is a good goal keeper....no doubt about that - but last season he was made to look much better than he is by virtue of a water tight defence - in the same way as Hahnemann was made to look like an outstanding goalkeeper by a team which defended from the front and rarely let anyone in for a ...

Right move for him IMO....and not a bad move for us either - as if he slumps or doesn't get enough game time for his liking, we don't to have to deal with that tool Rodgers to get him here on loan!
