Re: Play off Away Leg

tomrfcurz Can't see it selling out before close of play Wednesday

Hope you are right, as I want this to get to 1000+ on Wednesday afternoon. Annoyingly my son has 1940 points, not quite enough to buy Wednesday morning.

2000 tickets doesn't seem like many and I imagine demand will be high, fingers crossed.

Re: BFTG - Leeds

My thoughts on tonight.... - Akpan does not like a 50:50 challenge in midfield - Karacan should not play against Leeds definitely his bogey team. - That back 5 was pretty solid, three clean-sheets in a row is at least one positive! - McCormack looked like a one man show for Leeds - I have no idea wh...

Re: Which division do you want us in next season?

Before Christmas, I'd resigned myself to the fact we were going down and I wasn't bothered about staying up. Now we've got a fighting chance I actually quite want to stay up, damn that decent January run......

Re: MUFC FA Cup 5th Round ticket prices

Going to try and get 3 tickets for this when it goes to Member Cards in the morning, although I assume when it says the 9th it means about 8am and not 00:01 tonight? I assume we haven't sold our allocation, the club have been rather quiet about how many tickets have been sold! Good assumptions Than...

Re: How can a team playing so poorly have such good current form

It seems to me that Brendan Rodgers tried to play more attractive passing football with much of this squad and look where that got him. I think those that have said Brian is getting the most out of the players that he has and playing a style that suits them have hit the nail on the head, just a sham...

Re: Back from the game - Burnley (H)

First of all, great win, good atmosphere tonight at the Mad Stad, something which had been sadly lacking in the last few games I thought. Having just watched that video of the block by Mee, that was some real bravery (or madness). I cant honest believe we are 3rd in the table, 3 points off the top, ...

Why do I go to the games......to become Mayor of the Mad Stad on FourSquare. That is all.

Re: Back from the game - Palace

I'm sure Watford fans will have alot of sympathy for us over this disallowed goal. Just how many times do you think we have to pay for that one ? We've paid Watford back for that one now anyway by not turning up at all to the game at the Madejski this season and allowing them to score 2 goal...

Re: Back from the Game - Palace

In short, I'll take a win over dominance any day. Breandan Rodgers disagrees...... lol - I did have to chuckle listening to Rodgers post match interview after Swansea's last game when he was harping on about how good the performance was despite the loss. I thought, I've heard this all before somewh...

Re: The Siggy role

rabidbee Well, of course.

My point was that good players won't stay at this level for long.

Indeed - our best chance of keeping The Sig was to have hoped he staid for this season and carried us into the Premiership (try not to laugh) and then remained because we were at a higher level.

Re: Bryn could make 100th start for the royals

They are quite surprising, shows how "new" our team is in terms of playing together. If you count about 40 games as one season of football then only 5 have really done 2 seasons with us.

Re: The Siggy role

The thing that frustrates me about Howard's performance on Saturday was the miss from Kebe's cutback, from where I was sitting in Y21 it look like a sitter, can anyone shed any light on whether this is the case? In that role he has to score goals, if his finishing isn't up to it then we need to loo...

Pretty good line-up Spud Gun, an awful lot to ask of Jake Taylor, I've not seen the lad play but if he was brave enough to take that penalty in the Cup match then maybe his time has come, would be good to think he was a natural replacement for the Sig.

Re: Team for Palace (H) 11/09/2010

If we had another capable left winger we could move McAnuff into the central role and let him roam from there. Personally I think we'd miss his work rate out wide if we did that so I can't see it being an option, especially as it would mean starting one of the sub-standard backup players we have. I...

Re: Team for Palace (H) 11/09/2010

I suspect, as most do, that we will go 4-4-2, but I'm sure there must be some part of McD that will try and find someone to play in the Gylfi role just off the main striker, I can't see any of our current forwards (Church, Long, Hunt) being able to do that role. I think Howard played it for Buck whe...

Re: Stats with and without Gylfi

It will be interesting to see which formation we now play. If we are indeed going to switch to 4-4-2 then surely we need another striker? 3 strikers going for 2 places, especially when all of those 3 have had knocks already this season will leave us a bit thin on the ground. Unless McD is happy to l...

Re: Reading are crap

I'm torn between thinking...........but it's just a game or the bloody money has ruined football. It was so disappointing in our Premiership season that you are setting your sights on a 4th from bottom finish as a major achievement, and what a dull uninteresting league the Premiership is if you aren...
