Re: RUMOUR - Royston Drenthe

I heard they're waiting for Tommy Smith to spend more than two minutes in the car park before they confirm anything-a triple signing day!!

Re: Church

I must admit that I am not a Simon Churc h fan, and i've never seen anything to alter that opinion TBH...

Sincerely, im sure he is destuned for a fantastic career where he will score goals and play an important part in a winning side....I just want that to be somewhere else!!

Re: Church to Ipswich on loan...

Be it minutes on the pitch, appearances, even taking the amount of goals he's scored multiplied by his mother's shoe size divided by the time that Mars spent in Uranus plus the square root of that in addition to times that Church has looked like a potent deadly striking force (that's ZERO by the way...

Re: Church to Ipswich on loan...

Just for clarity, let's go through all of the forwards at the club's statistics...for this I have included EVERY single game players have played, including internationals. let's be honest, whenever we look at any potential transfer targets, statistics are a key measure, especially for strikers, so i...

Re: RUMOUR - Jermaine Defoe

Defoe is the PL's most prolific substitute EVER for a start. He'd go weeks without being mentioned because Harry barely played him! That's because Harry always wanted a Big Man up top when he had to accommodate Van der Vaart and Bale, and Modric (overrated) in his midfield and the likes over his ten...

Re: RUMOUR - Jermaine Defoe

Goals per game ratio's, these are club games only: Noel Hunt 0.26 Jason Roberts 0.31 Adam Le Fondre 0.41 Pavel Pogrebnyak 0.28 Simon Church 0.17 Mathieu Manset 0.18 Karl Sheppard 0.33 Jermaine Defoe 0.37 Draw your own conclusions here, but despite this list, and defoe having favourable stats, I stil...

Colin Cheeselog
MassSarrslibrarian when has Jermaine Defoe REALLY EXCITED YOU

I wouldn't quite say "really excited", but Reading 3-3 Bournemouth.

I was at that game, and yes, he scored a goal-but one game, 11 years ago, are you really using that as your basis that we should sign the guy??

Re: RUMOUR - Jermaine Defoe

I imagine the thinking would be that his goals would keep us in the Premiership. Would they? If we sign him, I hope you're right, but I would much rather choose a striker who is on the way up (Rhodes/ALF) than someone who has had more bad/intermediate seasons than good ones He's gonna be 30 in 3 mo...

Re: RUMOUR - Jermaine Defoe

If you look at his stats, 141 goals in 381 club games, that's bloody impressive, but, other than that time he scored 5 against Wigan (and let's be honest, that rugmuncher who carried the Olympic torch yesterday could have done that), when has Jermaine Defoe REALLY EXCITED YOU Are we signing him beca...

Re: Gylfi on sale for £6m

Simon's Church Not sure why he'd want to come back to the club that so cruelly forced him out of the place he so dearly loved.

He wasn't forced out, the club needed to sell-there is a subtle difference

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

I think, if the SPL clubs do indeed carry out their threat to vote against rangers then it shows big cahones to almost cut off one of your biggest revenue makers in the national game....but Rangers, and any club in a similar postion in the future need to realise,is that NOONE is bigger than the game...

The papers are obviously speculating on budgets and target's, surely, fitting with the club's mantra, surely we will go for the right player at the right price, just because the club have come under new ownership,Id be both surprised and concerned if Brian started throwing money around willy-nilly. ...

Re: Thames Sports Investment

This summer is going to be one of the more interesting ones with regards to transfer speculation. I can't remember the last time it was as good as this - and I include 06/07 in that. To think there will be no more :| at signings like Hughie Cheetham and Paul Brayson Never forget an advert in an old...
