Re: Spurs (A) *Match Thread* sponsored by Gylfi Sigurdsson

Slagging off Legs after he has just had perhaps his best performance of the season thus far just seems a very strange time to do it. As for why he has retained his place, as others have said....without him our midfield all struggle to reach the top shelf of the kitchen cupboard. Agree over the seaso...

Re: Spurs back from the Game/sofa

Actually thought Legs was one of our better performers today. As a team we were disciplined and worked hard defensively. Real lack of quality when we are in possession, but a couple of decent signings might make the world of difference to that. Thought we made Spurs work hard for it, mostly shooting...

Re: Reading vs. West Ham Match Thread Sponsored By Kebe's So

Scrappy, ugly...but more importantly, a battling performance. 2 clean sheets a good defensive display against Man City as well. We have a base to push on from. Won't need that much more quality on the ball to ensure we at the very least go down fighting. Get the right couple of players in ....who kn...

Re: Reading vs. West Ham Match Thread Sponsored By Kebe's So

10539.4 Miles Away Might be swimming against the tide a little here but ledge has put in a few very important touches, blocks, tackles and pressure. What he has been uttershit at is passing, as long as no one gives him the ball and gives him easy passes when he wins it he'll be fine :-)

Yawn. Everything TSI have promised us thus far has been delivered upon. They said we would not be significantly changing the business model Madejski had built. Just ensuring we would not have to sell players for purely financial reasons, to allow the manager to build a team. No cash was to be splash...

Re: Missing a trick not playing Shorey?

Shorey has had a decent season, but his form has dropped off over the last few weeks. Harte has come in and looked steady, as well as better in the air. For me, I think it depends on where we see the principle threat from the other team coming. Teams attacking down the wing, I would play Shorey....b...

Re: How Long Will BM Last at this rate?????

Just one comment on 4-5-1. We played it yesterday as another poster said more like 9-0-1. Chelsea play a version of 4-5-1 but the difference there (apart from far superior players) is that amongst the 5 there are always 2 or 3 bombing forward to support the one. Brian always says that our players w...

Re: Jobi jeered when subbed - drop or not to drop?

And when you factor in minutes played, offensively HRK is more than 300% better 1,656 Minutes Played 0 Goals - 6 Assists = 6 Goals created = 1 GC every 276 Minutes JOBI 0,596 Minutes Played 3 Goals - 4 Assists = 7 Goals created = 1 GC every 086 Minutes HRK I actually think HRK may end up developing...

Re: Back from the game - Swansea

Those saying we improved substantially after Alf and HRK came on. Had it occurred this coincided with Swansea's somewhat mystifying decision to settle for a point in the last 20 minutes. Pog worked hard, and when the ball actually reached him, was reasonably good at doing something with it (that hor...

Re: Reading v Swansea - Sponsored By New Wembley

Not sure what some felt HRK offered that Jobi didn't. Not saying HRK was bad, just that he did exactly the same things...worked hard, tracked back, had little opportunity to go forward. Some of our fans are just determined to have a scapegoat to moan about. Even Legs, who has been very much one of o...

Re: Reading v Swansea - Sponsored By New Wembley

That was far, far better than our previous game against Swansea I thought. Most of their possession was passes between their centre backs in their own half.....not like the one way traffic of last time. If we can remain tight and hard working like this for the rest of the season and add a little bit...

Re: Reading v Swansea - Sponsored By New Wembley

we all knew how this game would go. playing swansea is a headache for every team in the league because of the way they play. fluid, sharp passing and most possession. if anyone is actually surprised that we have to sit back and hit on the break they are deluded. ^^^This. Plus, once again...why are ...

Re: How Long Will BM Last at this rate?????

Gambling with money you either haven't got or are not prepared to simply write off if the gamble doesn't come off is neither "investment" nor "ambition". It's stupidity. Almost EVERY SINGLE thing said by Samuelson, Madejski and Zingarevich himself was completely clear about how ...

Re: How Long Will BM Last at this rate?????

Although today is a minor success for McDermott, and a rare one he needs to cling onto this season, for me it highlights some of his mistakes this season. Today we saw how we can be resilient and tough to create chances against with this squad of players. Too many times this season that hasn't been...

Re: Manchester City vs Reading *Match Thread* Sponsored by 4

Can only assume people slating McAnuff didn't see the game today. Both he and Kebe put in a terrific shift defensively. Even Legs looked better than he has been in recent weeks, perhaps still our weak link...but none of our players deserve slating after that performance. If we can remain that tight ...

Thought we played pretty well.

Had a defensive plan which the players stuck at well. Nobody let us down. Kebe, McAnuff and Pog had very decent games.

This was the sort of thing I was hoping for from McDermott. More of the same please.

Re: How Long Will BM Last at this rate?????

Credit where credit is due, today his tactics were much better- it actually looked as if he had adapted our game to nullify theirs rather than go toe-to-toe. He had a game plan and it was effective. Still has some way to go to convince me that he is the right man for the job, but today was a step i...

Re: How Long Will BM Last at this rate?????

Spoke at length to one of the team recently and he - like kebe - indicated the team back BM. I asked if he read HNA? and he said that the post were far too harsh and that BM is a great manager. He also said fans need to be more realistic in expectations. Clearly he is not s regular on this board. I...

Re: Arsenal: Back from the procession

I have spoken to a reliable source in the club. 1. McDermot doesn't review past games at all! (Crazy if you ask me ) 2. McDermot doesn't do any specific defensive work,drills,etc... 3. McDermot doesn't have a clue about tactics or planning, patterns of play, tactical subs etc..... 4. Before the gam...
