Re: Gonearsson?

White Rougier Cant believe they have treated a legend in such a way.

why did we not make him a player/coach?

The club statement says he asked to go as his family are now out there.

Perhaps he will return again one day when he is needed most...

Re: HRK upfront

I do think over time (in a similar way to Nathan Tyson) he will develop into a more central role. He just looks well suited to it when he plays. Saying that I can't see him being a lone forward type player, and certainly not in the immediate future. Can see him moving that way over the next few year...

The ' stick the flag in the football league stadium game'

Basically it's like a football ground geography test. The closer to the stadium you put the flag on the map, the more points you get.

http://www.football-league.co.uk/gamesw ... ?d561=85ed

I got around 84000 points.

Re: Jobi

I think he's great. He lets his head go down a bit sometimes when things just aren't going his way. but he puts in enormous work defensively, rarely goes missing even when it just isn't going his way and has created a fair few goals. He's not quite strong enough against a lot of PL players who appe...

Re: Dubai - Training

What is with all this 'flames' and 'woooldy' crap anyway? Am I just getting old? Its just Karacan and Morrison being pathetic! Flames- no idea it represents. Wooorldy- just a replacement for world-class! Cheers, I really didn't know if this was just a Reading players thing, or something the cool ki...

Indeed, was a balmy 12.5 degrees in Southsea this afternoon according to my car. No doubt the the players would have felt that a kickabout on Castle Field would have been 'wooorldy' or some such. Also the big old Harry owned building by the pier burnt down a while back so there would have been #flames

Platypuss van der Kwaak, Booty, Legg, Davies, Kromheer, Crawford, Caskey, McIntyre, Gray, Lambert.

*shudder*

James Lambert was pretty much my favourite player when I was a youngster. He never got remotely close to having the career he should have.

Re: Worst ever manager

I actually think Bullivant was far worse than Burns. With Burns you just got the sense he didn't know English lower league football at all, thus far over-rating Scottish premier league reserve players. He didn't help his cause freezing out players who might have made a positive contribution however....

Re: BFTMFG - Sunderland (H)

Horribly scrappy second half that could have gone either way. Overall thought we edged it though, so just about worth the result. Feds back to his best. Defence solid (Mariappa just getting better and better). Midfield all did ok, and a big shout to Akpan who didn't look at all out of place. Pog was...

Re: Well done McDermott and Hammond - Positive transfer wind

With all the talk of why we didn't go for other players of a similar ilk, this line from the BBC's report of our bid for Gylfi caught my eye. 'The Royals were keen to bring in a new attacking midfielder and failed with an offer for Blackpool's Tom Ince, while talks with Chelsea's Yossi Benayoun were...

Re: Well done McDermott and Hammond - Positive transfer wind

Like the summer (retrospectively) it's been a window where you have to wonder whether our business has been good enough to make a difference. Unlike the summer, given our league position, this window very much had to be dealt with having more than one eye on the Championship next season. On the who...

Re: Akpan's Amazing Assists - best passer at the club???

I thought Legs played well last night, the problem was after winning tackles there was nobody to pass to so he invariably lost it. Karacan and Guthrie were pretty anonymous so few apparent mistakes or misplaced passes compared to Ledge. I'd drop Karacan for Akpan in the Hope that Guthrie can regain...

Re: Chelsea (H) - sponsored by kicking the ball boy

Our first goal was absolute class. Top quality pass from Akpan, incisive run and finish from Alfie. Alf's finish for the second....even better.

Very solid performance again tonight. If you can stay in the game, you just never know with us.

Re: Rumour - Nick Blackman

I'm surprised how many are complaining about a lack of ambition on this one. With Church off, Hunt and Roberts free in the summer (no contract offered yet), it's a good thing to get one replacement in now, and even if we stay up, we can't realistically spend millions on three new strikers, as well ...

Re: Rumour - Nick Blackman

Are we going to sign a player from every team that we play in the FA Cup?! (Man United next :D) I hope that we are tracking these guys, rather than signing players based on one performance against us, but I seem to remember that United signed Ronaldo after he played well against them - that turned ...

Re: Hammonds negotiating skills

Is it time to question Nicky Hammond's skills at negotiating? If we believe some of the paper talk we seem to always offer figures either well below or just below the asking price. That seems sensible but on occasions you cant always get a bargain deal. Again if we believe what's reported we have o...

Re: Dave Kitson - Forever a Reading legend!

leon Probably best Reading forward I've seen.

^^^This for me. Fantastic natural ability. Really seemed to care. Certainly not a bland cardboard cut out personality. Would rank right up there as one of my all time favourite Reading players.
