Magic Numbers now 11 & 33 . Being slightly pedantic I think you will find it is 12 and 33. Mmrambrl grbrml wrmbch rgn drbnlch. Sorry, I'll say that again, I was still eating humble pie. "You are right of course." Didn't notice the Hornets 20% points increase. So... Magic Numbe...

 I prefer to look at the magic numbers. They are currently 17 & 35. Of course we'll stay up, that 17 will soon evaporate, it's the 35 for a Europe place that will take a little longer to achieve. It's currently 36 for a EUFA Cup place from 12 games - a bit of a tall order! Yes 36... Hadn'...

oldelmparky We can only be safe after six more games (ie after 3rd March).
Winning our next six, which includes the one at the Emirates.
Wonderful birthday presi for me (12th March). :D

Hey, me too!

You must be a great guy then.

oldelmparky ... but hey.

Since the half way point the Magic Number has fallen from 50 to 34 in just four games. So at that rate we'll be safe after Easter. :)

On the other hand...
Talking Magic Numbers, it's only

55

for a place in Europe.

Gordons Cumming
Gordons Cumming I don't know what all the fuss is about.

We'll easily make 50 points so this discussion is irrelevant.

HTH

I agree.

I wish I could agree with my opinions sometimes. :?

It's easy if you try.

Just at the point of being convinced, I find an alternative view.

Anyone else note that of the bottom 9 teams we have to play 6 at the Mad stad (Watford, SheffU, Wigan, Fulham, Villa and Newky), 2 away (Boro and Charlton) and we've done the the double over the 'ammers. With Sheff U, Wigan, City, Villa and Boro in the next 5 I can see us getting 12 pts from these ...

And after their stuffing in the cup last week they'll be up for putting things right.... Maybe... but I think the first goal could be crucial. If Everton get it you could be right but if Reading score first I can see Everton's cup stuffing getting to them. I'm going for 1-2 Reading. Sidwell 24, Doy...

Re: Match Preview - Reading V Burnley, FAC3, Sat 6 Jan 07

The Match Reading V Burnley FA Cup 3rd Round Saturday 6 January 2007 Kick off 3pm The Ref Chris Foy of Merseyside. For more information click here I know there are very few supposedly top class refs (like bent pennies, we keep getting the sames ones back) but do they use more than one name as well?...

If the reservers get through tomorrow it will give them a chance to get their own back against Birmingham for putting our reserves out last year (assuming they beat NUFC in the replay) or if not, for us to show that our reserves can win at St James without Styles on their side. But having said that ...

I have no problems with SC's decision. it'll be good experience for some of the younger/fringe players to get out and get some competitive minutes under their belts (lets face it, they dont get the same sort of test in the reserve league)... ...and if the reserves do well and start to progress, giv...
