Re: HNA approval/disapproval of NA

Fair enough Ian. Merry Christmas :!: Merry Xmas Floyd. Spotted you on Saturday, but you were in mid-rant and I was trying to find someone, so I didn't come say hello. Apologies for my rudeness. Hope you're at least enjoying having something to complain about. :D When is Floyd not in mid-rant :?: :!...

Re: Non - League thread 2012/13

Witney Town resign from the Hellenic. Only Ascot of the local sides lose points, W&E lost to them and Binfield were yet to play them at all

Re: Non - League thread 2012/13

Marlow v Binfield - match at Stubbs Lane earlier this year was 'lively' Huge game this, best attack v best defence, Binfield are 11(10 wins and a draw) unbeaten in the league, up to 3rd and only 10 points behind Marlow. I probably would have gone had RFC not been at home tomorrow Got told last week...

Re: Shane Long appreciation full homo thread

Harry on MOTD lapping up Long. He is pure class. One of the best players we have ever had. How did he come from being so crap a few years ago to being so classy? Because Brendan Rodgers did oxf*rd all with him and McDermott made him the player he is today. I reckon Long barely played under Rodgers,...

Re: Non - League thread 2012/13

A smattering of the local saturday players(Binfield, W&E, Finch & Bracknell Town mostly) play in the Bracknell Sunday league, but not as many as used to. Do you know who from Windsor plays on Sunday these days? Personally I'd be surprised if anyone getting a game in the CCL Prem team on Sat...

Re: Non - League thread 2012/13

You've said it before and I've asked around previously as I was fascinated at the idea - but in fact people I've asked have scoffed at the notion of playing on Saturdays then turning out for a pub team on a Sunday. One or 2 yes, but "a lot"? No way. I'm not defensive in the slightest I ju...

Re: Euro 2012 - Group Stages

No Cole was let down by his team mates just standing there so he had nobody to throw it to, he then kept edging forward and wasn't releasing the ball, ref took it as time wasting A team mate of mine got booked in a Sunday league game for the same thing once - we were losing at the time..... :? FinchOwl Buy Holland, surely? Fairly certain they will get to the semi's at least as paired with group A for the QF's. They look the value to me

Re: The January 2012 transfer thread

yeah fair play on that score didn't realise Dzeko's record was so reasonable. makes you wonder what journalists are actually talking about Probably because he had about half of them inside the first 10 matches, including 4(?) away at Spurs. He seems to be one of those players that suffers from rota...

Re: Non - League thread 2011/12

further rumours they may even be leaving Hellenic altogether along with Finchampstead and returning to the Reading league? Havnt heard anything about this, although I am not directly involved with the Saturday club, and I would imagine it unlikely as they just had their best league finish in years....

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Kenny who pissed away £100m I keep seeing stuff like this written, but I am not convinced they were all Dalglish signings, Comoli was there and played a major role in player recruitment and I suspect he had more say over transfer policy. He was sacked a few months back - kinda points to the fact th...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round 2011/2012

I reckon they'll go for Paul Lambert Surely they will go after Martinez again? Didnt he turn them down last summer? Surely he would do the same again this year? - he's building something at Wigan, and the Chairman loves him and wouldn't sack him Maybe, but I would think Villa will still have the sa...

Re: The official guess the England 22 thread

Well, its a 23 man squad for a start, 3 of which have to be keepers I think. The rule was changed a few years back to stop the '3 keepers or an extra outfield player' deb8 that you used to get before every tournament I would take Hart, Carson, Ruddy(Foster if he can be persuaded) Walker, Cole, Baine...

Re: New England manager

Media are the England team's worst enemy, and whilst Hodgson has achieved more in his career than 'Arry, he could really struggle from day 1 as the tabloids didn't get their darling choice Trouble is, if 'Arry was appointed how long before the media turn on their darling and start writing about his...

Re: Back from the game Birmingham away 28th April

Didnt think we played too badly actually. On another day Harte scores the pen, ALF takes one of his chances and we win or draw the game. It certainly wasnt as bad as some are making out. Connolly looked like he hadnt played for 6 weeks, surprised he played in truth. Tabb my MOM for us, thought he wa...
