Re: RTG

To be honest, it annoys me with what he comes out with, but he's completely true about the Cardiff game. We were ontop all game, some of our play was outstanding. I don't agree with the luck thing, I don't think we were unlucky at all, I think we just wern't clinical.

Re: Cardiff match thread sponsored by sheep fiddler (c)

Gooding felt Church might have been brought on because Hunt was playing too far away from Rasiak thus not getting on the end of any of his numerous knock-downs. Spot on. Yet posters will have it that Rasiak won nothing in the air. He won plenty but Hunt was nowhere to be seen to feed off them. No, ...

Re: Cardiff match thread sponsored by sheep fiddler (c)

Matejovsky did the stuff that he's usually very poor at yesterday. Chasing down the ball, tackling and getting the ball out of defence. I pretty much thought he was playing deeper than usual all game. This ment Howard could go forward more, and I thought he was really good, rarely gave the ball away...

Re: Top 3 Reading goals ever

I've always liked (I think) Gunnarssons goal against leeds when he managed to evade what must have been five or six players around him to get the shot off.

Dirk Gently I only realised this yesterday when someone reminded me. Could have been embarrassing!

It will be embarrassing when Chopra scores three past our defence...

Re: The Tommy Smith Transfer Failure Thread

Mediacl passed at about 2-3 o'clock. All that neeed to be done was to get the press there - the press conference was arranged for about 5 pm (I think). In that few hours betwen medical and press conference Pompey struck - although, of course, it may be that they were talking to his TS's agent while...

Re: The Tommy Smith Transfer Failure Thread

Plan B is almost certainly to panic buy someone. All the best pickings have been taken. We have a few days left. What would attract anyone to this club at this precise moment in time? That's realism. No plan x will be to panic buy. The only reason it would even remotely seem than way is the fact th...

Re: The Tommy Smith Transfer Failure Thread

johnnym So, any ideas on what Plan B looks like???

Also, BR has consistently mentioned that he wanted 2 players in. Who is the other one??

Maybe we can sign Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith, at least Tommy and Smith is close to Tommy Smith?

Re: The Tommy Smith Transfer Failure Thread

Due to our position in the league, form and the whole Tommy Smith saga, any player we go in for now we will end up playing over the odds for unless the team are desperate to get rid.

Re: The Tommy Smith Transfer Failure Thread

I don't think Smith was an 'average' player at all. A lot of people on here wouldn't call Doyle and average player, though Smith only got 1 or 2 goals less than him last season (not from an constant striker position either) and he also got a load more of assists. I'm very curious to see who our targ...

Re: The Tommy Smith Transfer Failure Thread

Statement from SJM?

"Overall, I think the way we have conducted this (non) transfer, shows our ambition to be playing League 1 football next season."

Re: The Tommy Smith Transfer Failure Thread

If he still wanted to come here, he wouldn't be having a medical at Pompey - he'd have told them he's not interested. Really can't blame him choosing Pompey + Premiership (for however short a time that may be) + more money. Anyone who does blame him for that is bonkers. He wants to keep his choices...
