Another update, courtesy of the lovely Emma Drury from Derby County. She spoke to Big Parking who looked into it (very quickly, it seems, lol. Did they anlready know there was a problem?) and apparently the ANPR cameras operated by Parking Eye are supposed to be turned off when there’s a match on. B...
Monday morning update. Derby County phone me this morning! I had emailed them over the weekend. Also, I discovered from my bank account that £10 had been taken from my account by Event Support, Coventry. Now, the car park is managed on match days by Big Parking, who are based in Coventry. The lady f...
Thanks for the various pieces of advice. I shall contact the CC tomorrow. You never know! It is clear to me that this was a scammer at work, as suggested by the following facts: 1. I don’t recall being given a ticket, 2. He charged £10 instead of the £8 which I’d expected, suggesting he didn’t want ...
Following the instructions on the Derby County website, I parked in the Derby Conference Centre. I paid the chap at the entrance as I was driving in. Imagine my surprise to have just received a parking fine notice for £100/£60. Dozens of other Reading fans had also parked there. Has anyone else rece...
Seems to me that Dai, a proud and arrogant man who is not used to being challenged, has taken umbrage at the very public criticism of him over the past few months, and has decided he is in no hurry to sell the club, and certainly not cheaply. In the meantime, he has decided not to subsidise the club...
If SCL have indeed been providing financial support over and above their sponsorship fees, why aren’t their PR department shouting it from the rooftops?
Feethams is now a housing estate, though the cricket club is still there. I saw the West Indies play Durham there one year before they built the Riverside in Chester le Street. The Tin Shed was taken down and moved to Darlington Rugby Club, where Darlo currently ground share. The football club is cu...
Pardew has just this minute been on BBC Look North. He said, "Some games will definitely be called off this weekend, but I think ours will definitely be on. We have an excellent workforce and an excellent relationship with the local Council." It is bone-chilling cold up here at the moment ...
This is clearly the most pressing and contentious point confronting HobNob at the moment, so could I suggest 109 people went to Sunderland on coaches from Reading and 168 made their own way there, either by car, train or plane from Reading or from among our hardy band of exiles living in the north.
There were more than 109. Don't know where 277 comes from, but that seems about right to me. I only had to drive 30 miles home, but respect to the bloke on my Park and Ride bus who had to drive back alone to Reading, having also done so for the rained off game. 1200 miles for that!
The ticket I advertised on here a few weeks ago is still available. Neither of the other interested people replied to my PM, so could you check that you have received the PM I've sent you. Cheers.
No trains back to Darlington that evening now that kick off time is later, so I have one ticket, South Stand R32 row CC available at face value. PM if interested.
Just got home. I'll have you know the A66 was very busy tonight.
Our midfield and defence is just awesome. Not the most exciting or colourful game I've ever seen but such a solid performance. This team is going up. How can anyone score against us?
