Re: Fans' Forum

Ian Royal You might not like it, but the behind close doors slow erosion style is an effective way of getting success.

What's your benchmark of success, and have STAR achieved this?

Re: Fans' Forum

The idea of Royal Lady (who is negative about anything and everything RFC do!) being the link between HNA and STAR just about sums up this whole farce. Not only does she want to tell the club what to do she also wants to do the same with STAR without even being a member. About time she got a life a...

Re: First Fans Forum of season

I think it's a bloody cheek that they charge £800 for, what 3 hours? It wouldn't cost them £800 in wages for bar staff, I'm certain of that! And as Royalblue says, it's a pay bar - so they're raking it in anyway. Perhaps that is another issue STAR need to speak to the club about in all honesty. Str...

Re: First Fans Forum of season

TBF I think you're now going a step too far RL.

I never thought I'd find myself sticking up for the hapless volunteers at STAR, but I would say I'm prepared to take them at their word that they have researched venues, and also that £800 is the going rate for hiring such a venue of an evening.

Re: Fans' Forum

Have to agree with Royal Lady here - hard to see anyone arguing against improved communication, and hard to argue that this forum is not a good place (forum, if you will) for that communication to happen.

Unless you don't like giving people the right of reply, of course.

Re: Fans' Forum

On a slightly seperate note, how is it that the club are able to contact Graham and get him to remove the offending message within hours of it being posted?

Have they got him on speed dial or something? And what else gets censored on here?

Ideal papereyes has passed away?

He's no longer with us, and for the avoidance of doubt, by us I mean this portal.

Re: Reading writer wanted

Cheers Daisy, welcome to the board. Ignore the odd idiot on here (^)

The late papereyes (RIP) was always good at this type of thing, think he did one for a Watford fansite once.

Re: Fans' Forum

cmonurz That’s what I expected when the STAR forum appeared, pretty much a ‘hive’ of STAR activity. It’s nothing of the sort.

Most under used board behind Board Announcements.

Re: Should we start our own Supporters Group to Replace STAR

I think it's only a matter of time before this happens anyway, but (a) it shouldn't be seen as a replacement or even competition to STAR and (b) I don't think anything will come of this thread - it probably needs to happen from a few keen people getting it going and could perhaps then be advertised ...

Re: Fans' Forum

blindedbythelights ease off the comments on the STAR members, it'll only give them an excuse to delete the thread and brush all this under the carpet

Agreed. It's about the regime not any individual member.

Re: Fans' Forum

Having been involved in STAR I would agree with you wholeheartedly. The trouble is that although there is a lot of noise on here, the number of concerns actually brought to STAR were very few. My experience was that people were happy to sound off on here but that was the extent of the effort they w...

sandman This is possibly the most hypocritical thread in the history of the Internet.

In what way? Are you suggesting the contributors are for the most part volunteering badly at similar organisations?

Re: Fans' Forum

It's nice that hobnob agrees with us but it sounds like he was put under tremendous pressure from the club to delete the thread. Dear oh dear. Like others have said, if Cypry had reported on anything remotely controversial or revealing, then I could understand it, but he didn't. its the principle t...
