Re: [POLL] Is Aluko really that poor?

When he joined us I remember that the Fulham fans who were happy to see him go (especially for such a tidy sum) said that he was skilful but with no end product. We are not even seeing the skill let alone the end product apart from the odd exception like his solo goal against QPR last season.

Corners

Does anyone know how many goals we have conceded from corners in the last 2 seasons and how many we have scored from corners ? It just seems that every time we defend a corner you can feel the trepidation in the team and expect the worst. Likewise when we get a corner, I rarely think that we have a ...

Re: BFTG - Norwich

Although we lost again, I'm still optimistic we can stay in this division. Like I said after the Preston game, this side, the way they are playing currently look destined for relegation. But I think Clement will be able to improve the situation and sort us out. On BBC Berks Adie Williams wanted to ...

Re: BFTG - Bolton

A big problem for us and one that Stam and Clement have both faced is that we do not have many automatic nailed on starters. I would argue that only Moore and Barrow could be classed as nailed on starters. This is why we hardly ever have a settled side with numerous changes from game to game. I appr...

Re: Smallest Attack in Champ

So have you done any research into our new strikers? If you had you'd find that McNulty is more in the mould of Nicky Forster than Alfie as he does a lot off the ball, works hard for the team and has a bit of pace. A quick visit to a Cov forum will tell you all you need know. But how exactly is tha...

Re: Smallest Attack in Champ

I really want you to. I want shedloads of the BEST wingers the game has ever had. John Robertson - Notts Forest. Probably the best winger ever to play in our top league. Eddie Gray - Leeds Utd Riquelme - argentina David Beckham - Man Utd Zico - Brazil Ronaldinho - Brazil Chris Waddle - Spurs Ronald...

Re: Smallest Attack in Champ

What? He's so slow? You wouldn't last long... Slow isn't always a major problem for a winger. I will give you (if you really want me to) the names of shedloads of slow players who have been amongst the best wingers the game has seen. I really want you to. I want shedloads of the BEST wingers the ga...

Re: Smallest Attack in Champ

Yes he is. We will have to differ in our opinions. For the record I think that Bodvarsson is a reasonable championship standard player and if I was manager with the current squad I would start on him on the right wing. What? He's so slow? You wouldn't last long... Slow isn't always a major problem ...

Re: Smallest Attack in Champ

The two strikers we have signed are Le Fondre style goal poachers, but we currently create very few of the kind of opportunities to score goals that these kind of strikers need. So have you done any research into our new strikers? If you had you'd find that McNulty is more in the mould of Nicky For...

Re: Smallest Attack in Champ

Yes Bodvarsson is tall but anyone who understands the strengths and weaknesses of players they watch would realise that Bodvarsson is not a centre forward. Yes he is. We will have to differ in our opinions. For the record I think that Bodvarsson is a reasonable championship standard player and if I...

Re: Smallest Attack in Champ

We have signed two similar style small strikers in Baldock and McNulty whereas we need a tall strong central striker who can win the ball in the air, hold it up for other players to join in, and who can also score with his head when challenged by a tall centre back. Yes Bodvarsson is tall but anyone...

Re: RUMOUR - George Evans to Sunderland

The first game I saw Evans play for us, I thought that he had good passing skills but his mobility was extremely limited for a young player. I hoped that this lack of mobility might be due to not being match fit. However nothing has changed since that first match. He plays like he has lead in his bo...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (a) sponsored by first half away goal search

Why has Bacuna who has been 'man of the match' in his only two appearances as right back been moved from right back again ?

Favourite comment on Twitter: https://i.imgur.com/SnxiuKR.png yeah. Re: Gunter

I don't agree with Stams selections but I would pick Gunter every time.[/quote] I think that's essentially the problem. Other players must look at Gunter and wonder how a player, who many on this site regard as average at best, is Stam's first name on the team sheet every week regardless of his perf...

Re: Back from booing at my tv screen

It's not rocket science, yes we do need a centre forward but even without one at the moment Stam could have us in the top 6 if he picked the right starting eleven but week after week he doesn't. The following players cannot be in the starting line up: Gunter, Blackett, Van den Berg, Beerens as they ...

Re: Is the idea of a striker flawed? Does Stam believe in total football?

Clearly there was money to be spent this window and he didn't get anyone in, so I can only imagine he knows what he's doing he said he wanted a forward, we tried to sign forwards, we couldn't sign forwards, so ended up going for wingers and attacking midfielders instead. again. but to say it was hi...

Re: JVdB Signs One Year Extension

Per https://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/2017/september/van-den-berg-extends-royals-contract/ He's utterly useless and a total liability so this is mystifying... Joey Van Den Berg has to be one of the slowest professional footballers I have ever seen. Should be named Joey Ice Berg as he moves at the pa...

Re: BFTG Millwall

I was at the game. Even if we had won tonight I was going to come on here and have a good moan. Tonight's game typified everything that is wrong with our team at the moment. We don't look like a proper football team. The possession is pointless. Whenever we get into attacking areas there is no one ...
