Re: A bit smug but he's ours - do we love him yet?

McDermott was my first love and after him I don't think I can ever love again . . . . .

Re: Games you'll admit you didn't bother going to

I didn't bother going to Cardiff Away in the play off as it was just too much hassle.

Went to aevery home game last year bar Swansea. Went to all the cup games - home and away - apart from old trafford (Monday evening).

Re: Alex Pearce

Anyone who claims that losing Pearce isn't a blow to the club is living in a fantasy world. He is clearly a premiership standard CB and it's just a shame that him and Mariappa won't get another season together (along with decent full backs).

If he goes to Leeds that would be ridiculous.

Re: Jay Tabb - and welcome back!

How do you rate your chances next season? I personally think you'll be top two with Wigan. The parachute payments and the fact you seem to be keeping the majority of the squad bodes well. The league hasn't improved while you've been away alas. If anything, the bottom clubs are catching up with the ...

Re: NO LONGER A RUMOUR - Wayne Bridge

genome I think we need a young left-back and a striker and a covering CB in and that should do us.

I think we desperately need a creative/goalscoring midfielder. Maybe Guthrie will fill the role but i'm not convinced.

Re: Brian: The right decision?

The fact will always be that in terms of end of season results, McDermott achieved everything that could realistically expected from him. Had we been relegated under him i'd have taken his sacking as sad but maybe inevitable. Now we'll never know if he could have pulled off one last miracle.

Re: Jay Tabb... What next?

Good luck to him. Always wore his heart on his sleeve and gave his all for the club unlike certain other midfielders last season. Underrated by the majority of fans and hated by many on here where players with work rate are frowned upon. I don't hate him, and I acknowledge his work rate, however te...

Re: Pre-season friendlies

At least it's not Palace again (though ironically we probably won't play them for a while now).

Fingers crossed for Swindon as I enjoyed the trip there a couple of years back. Other than that, Oxford obviously - Brentford would be fun.

Are you planning on travelling from Grimsby for the home games? I pity your mate who drew out Yeovil! Anyway, welcome aboard. It wasn't that long ago that Reading v Grimsby was a fixture in what is now the Championship, so good luck with the BlueSq season Yeah planning on travelling from Grimsby fo...

Re: Red Car Park Renewal - or not?

The only lime I ever parked at the Mad Stad was for a 2nd round league cup game on a Tuesday night. It took me over 45 minutes to just get out of the car park so have never attempted since.

85% want to get rid of Tabb then. I thought that he had quite a few ardent supporters on here? (Personally I don't think he good enough to play football at either PL or FL level).

Re: Brian: The right decision?

If we don't get anything on Sunday then,

Points per game:

McDermott - 0.79

Adkins - 0.56

I know that's not a fair comparison but I think it goes to show that McDermott got as much as he could out of the team.

Re: Bottom of the travel table

The report mentions the Green Park railway station being on hold. Is it on-hold, or has it been pretty much binned? Not sure things were much better when we had the small multi-storey car park, but a new purpose-built multi storey, with multiple exits would probably help things, as would a temporar...

Colin Cheeselog Ultimately their players are still considerably better than our.

1-3.

Bearing in mind that their back up, back up winger is Scott Sinclair - a player that we made look like 1986 Maradona in the playoff final - i'd have to agree.

I'm hoping for a goal fest either way.

Re: Brian: The right decision?

The way I see it, we had the worse squad in the league this season. I don't know how anyone can argue with that. we didn't have one prem quality full back until we bough Kelly - a player Fulham didn't want, and not one player with proven goal scoring ability at that level. It's not like we even had ...

Though to be fair it's probably easier to get to Didcot from the town centre than it is to get to the Mad Stad :D There's a few pubs around there as well!
